What happens when Mitch's new pal isn't getting it done? How many extra years does his good pal get, that other coaches wouldn't?

I'm very worried about a Drew hire.

Kind of messed up in terms of order but I will say this. If it is true that Mitch would really consider hiring either Pope or Ford but wouldn't consider hiring Pearl that has got to be some of the worst thinking in the history of the planet.

Of course the UCONN fan Dauster is gonna say Hurley isn't coming.
Yeah, we have to at least try on Hurley for sure. Though he's not my top pick, Goodman and Dauster had good points on Drew and how he wasn't really just a 1-hit wonder at Baylor. Made the point Baylor had a great team in the COVID year and also in 2022 prior to injuries derailing that team. So, I'm getting more comfy with Drew (and think he could do well here) but I'd still prefer Oats or Hurley the most.

Of course they’re gonna put the sucky ones at the top lol. Like how Pitino wanted us to hire Travis Ford or John Pelphrey before Cal. He knew he could beat up on those guys.

Any top 10-20 coach, who can coach, develop, and build teams paired with the platform/brand of UK and SEC, should be "feared".

You can recruit anywhere. Cal recruited NBA level talent at Umass, Memphis, here, and he'll do it again at Arky.

We don't need a big name or brand here. We are the big name and brand.

People get caught up in the biggest name, most goddy resume, prisoner of the moment who's hot and headlining game.

Who, regardless of name recognition and dazzling interview checking all the boxes, can coach?

UK basketball will take care of the rest.

I’m warming up to Drew. Solid record, top 10 recruiting class. High offensive efficiency. He does lack the confidence or swagger that this position may require

First weekend exit nearly every single season.

Even in the last 6 Post Seasons, when the reputation has been that he has Baylor "ROLLING"....

2018- NIT
2019- Round of 32
2021- NCAA Title
2022- Round of 32

From what I've been told (this was when UL was after him) was his school has basically given him the key's to the castle. He practically helped design the arena they are currently in now. He is also a religious man who has strong ties to the community and church. Who knows but I feel like he will retire their.

So, what they're saying, without saying it, is they truly don't want Beard or Miller here...

Wondering what it would take for MB to fire a pal? Look no further than Joker. A new AD would have to do it.

Drew ain’t it but prob will be it.

Those anonymous sources are going to say what they want to see happen in Lexington. Reverse psychology. Drew doesn’t scare them.

They are scared to death we’re going to get it right the first time and UK will be back so try to speak it into existence. It’s the same reason Pitino wanted Travis Ford here as coach. Why ESPN shuns our expectations. They like us mediocre. Enough to get the ratings but not good enough to be a legit threat. That’s what we’ve been the past 3 seasons.

Well, if I was an opponent I would list the crapiest choices I could think of and hope my enemy picks one of them.

Yeah, I'm good. Anyone that wants to sign up for that, call Kevin Ollie while you're at it.

The only interesting thing about Scott Drew is that he has a good class coming in that he could take here.

But Drew is the BACK UP GUY you get if you can't get a home run hire.

He should be the last call.

I believe Goodman would call in sick to attend a concert starring The Chipmunks.

I'm not sold on Drew either, but where do you turn if all your top choices say no. Most of the people at the top the lists on here are likely to say no thanks. Perhaps we get lucky with one, but odds are we are looking at people like Lloyd and Drew.

I'm not suggesting him but I mentioned an up and comer a while back, before he went to Ok St... Lutz from WKU may be a long range good hire if we were to swing and miss on higher up the food chain names. He looks like he could be for real. Ok St saw something, too. Another reason I think Mitch already knows who it will be, or at least, a very short list.
