Is there any reason he didn’t play hardly any today? I mean besides the fact Z and Ugo have been good. Just odd he hardly seen the floor, I’m not complaining because I think he’s a liability at times to the team. But hopefully he can get better
Bradshaw is our new Nick Richards. If AB is sensible, he will follow the development cycle of Bradshaw. Bradshaw worked out hard, built muscle , and, gained weight and confidence. Bradshaw may become a great player but the time frame for him to do that is not one year. I hope he follows the Nick Richards path. He definitely has more basketball skills than Nick had at this stage.

When it’s not physical.

He needs to be introduced to American Pop Tarts and the weight room…. and come back to UK to show out. :)
None of our bigs are alpha's on defense, Z is a wing player with a clear upside offensively, and if he can grab boards, he becomes a better option than Ugo IMO, unless it's a clear pack in grinder, the Ugo should get more minutes.

Bradshaw should be the last off the bench in an 8 or 9 man rotation.

Not really, DJ is a really quality 7-8 man to keep our guards fresh even not playing well. Play defense his best and work out the kinks before the tourney. I have faith in DJ.
I do too- just wish a couple of his 3 pointers/jumpers would go in to give him some much needed confidence.

Nah, then he would be taking too many. He and Bradshaw should never take another 3 again.
This right here.

The worst thing that happened to Bradshaw was that 3 he made in Gainesville. He took several bad shots after that, poorly timed, and has been a terrible player since. He looks like a project who learned basketball 2-3 years ago.

Wagner, however, is an atrocious 3-pt shooter. He's missed 15 in a row? 1 for his last 22 is that right? He was called "streaky" entering college .... that's being far too kind.

I trusted Wayne Turner and Rajon Rondo firing threes more than DJ at this point. He's broken. You can blame the ankle injury all you want .... but that's a cop-out. He still drives to the hole. It's simple - he can't shoot.

The kid is just too soft and slow to be effective. He needs to work on his body and feet. He is similar to Nick Richards, so hopefully he will stay until he can get to where we need him to and he needs to.

But with Klutch, that's probably not going to happen.
Wonder why the bogeyman was OK with Bradshaw’s limited minutes against Alabama?

The monster under your bed really is Klutch. 😆

When i said fans can’t be patient, i’m not blaming the fans. I’m saying we don’t have the luxury of being patient with these kids because we know they’re likely gone after a season.

So i’m agreeing with you. Fans can’t be blamed for having unreasonable expectations for some of them when the culture is for them to leave after one season no matter what.

And bradshaw set multiple screens today. One free’d Edward’s for a mid range jumper. It was supposed to be a wing pick n roll and both guys rolled with Bradshaw towards the rim. Another free’d a driving lane for either Dilly or Reeves i can’t remember which and we scored on that play too.
Along with that Bradshaw come up with a put back underneath and also made a great play for a big man and being a freshman. He dished off for a three in the corner instead of running over somebody on a break out. Nine out of ten young big men wouldn’t have done that. He does need to get stronger, but he can and does still help this team.

A basketball idiot like me knows that Bradshaw can't play the center he needs to play the 4 spot cal and his 10 million dollar coaching skills
Bradshaw is not a 4 as he can not shoot very well and can not guard very well either.

They can't all play all the time, Bradshaw plays everyone cries for Z, Z plays now someone is crying for Bradshaw.

He should be. And it’s a shame that the main reason he gets so much criticism is because he’s expected to leave after a season no matter what. Fans can’t be patient with guys like this anymore because of the culture.

The fans aren’t the ones being impatient. It’s the players and their agents. And our coach pushing guys to the league doesn’t help, either. I get it if they are a lotto pick, but I don’t think Cal publically speaks out enough about guys who aren’t ready leaving prematurely. There’s nothing wrong with saying a guy isn’t ready.

Cal has said several times with the bigs if they can't guard another 5 without being pushed aside they won't play. Bradshaw and Ivisic both need an off season at UK to build good muscle like Ugo did in a years time.

I agree. It’s just honest assessment. Bradshaw is a nice kid. I think he plays hard. But he’s not really good at any one part of the game right now. Doesn’t rebound well. Not really a rim protector. Doesn’t have the mobility or skills to be a face up guy or defend on the perimeter or in PnR. I’d say he has decent hands, and a better than average touch for a guy his size. And those things COULD be solid building blocks for a decent big man coach like Antigua to work with if AB would stick around for a few seasons. Not gonna happen though.

What’s the early line on the identity of the next player to be given up on after Bradshaw has a good game?

Kid DEFINITELY needs more maturity and get stronger. Wish one of these kids would make a good decision for themselves especially now with NIL. Your life's not over because of a couple years of growing up and maturity.

You realize DJ played nearly the same amount as Rob? Rob had 16 points while DJ had 4.
And do realize Rob once again (10th time this season) Rob limited his own minutes with fouls?
Also Wagner is the better defender. Not 12 points better, but it does lessen the gap some.
And with the level of energy Rob plays with he probably needs a little more rest than typical.

DJ can't shoot the 3, or least a high enough percentage to keep teams honest.
I agree but still would like to see a couple go in because not sure if he is going to stop shooting them- seems he hasn't made a jump shot in forever

DJ Wagner should play no more than 10 minutes.

Yeah I put Bradshaw instead of Richards in the sentence about working out and becoming stronger etc. I am not saying Bradshaw and Richards are similar in how they play, only that Bradshaw should follow Richards path while he was at UK. Give Bradshaw another year and he may be great.
Wagner needs another year as well. Afterall, he is a year younger that Reed . One more year at UK could be life changing for him.
