To this point, can somebody tell me how long the Germany team had been together? I remember the announcers commenting about it yesterday but don’t remember exactly what they said. I thought they said some of their players had played together on different teams but that this team hasn’t been together long.
Interesting. I figured these teams had been together for years. Hadn’t thought about them being all star teams. Didn’t think that had enough teams in Germany to pick an all star team from.

They had played together some before, it's not like they were completely unfamiliar with each other. Unlike our group which had practiced 10ish days as a team.

I have no idea either other than what was said during the game. I just think a lot of people assumed they had played together for quite some time based on all the comments about the KY team all being new to each other. Edwards and Wagner played on the same AAU team together, but that really means nothing now. Just curious about the German team since everyone talks like it’s a different situation for them.

So, if we're not very good, why did they get spanked? Had they not been hot from three we would've beat them by 20.

Typical German anything.....starts off great, and then sputters down the stretch.
I never get that response in sports, it just makes the team who lost look worse

So now my question is, is how does a Canadian become the head coach for the German national team?
I think they said he played and coached for several Euro teams, so probably got some German connection. But I’ve always found it odd that coaches don’t have to be from the country they are coaching.

Yeah, it's really a bad look on them and it also makes their loss look even worse. It's similar to a crowd chanting "overrated" after beating a highly ranked team. Germans should be praising UK, not belittling them.
Unless they actually win the next games. I see them posting up their bigs if we play them again and them playing more zone to make us shoot from outside. I don’t see them beating us either way.

Not exactly accurate. Germany was without their starting all star PG who injured his foot and is out until October.

And we were without our starting center. So, I mean....next man up.
Isn’t a PG way more important than a C? That’s what another thread on the front page of RR says, explaining that replacing Oscar with Wagner made all the difference for the offense…

This is the offspring of the morons that thought sticking around in Russia through the winter would be nbd.

I'd be worried if they thought we were good.

Germans made threes, which made them tough to beat, but they were shaky with the ball and don't have much athleticism. They got beat a team of mostly 18-19 year olds playing their first organized game together. They should probably save their trash talk. Ha!
Well said, next game

I mean I think Hitler and the final nazis thought they still had a good chance of winning the war days before it all came crashing down and they were surrounded from every side.🤣

I agree with your post but Hitler's mistakes are why we won the war, he thought he could win against almost the whole world-----and almost did. The US entrance in the war was the turning point, along with him taking on his Allie, Russia. I have nothing but respect for our soldiers, especially the ones that died, along with the heroes, like Audie Murphy.. But you have to give the German soldiers credit for giving their all, even if a lot of their courage and ability was due to being high on drugs-----like Hitler. Drugs were included in their daily rations, like cigarette's were to our soldiers..

I still hate that so many of our soldiers died later because they got hooked on cigarettes with nothing else to do in their foxholes. NO excuse for the younger generation now to smoke, they have been warned about dying with lung cancer like my wife did much later after getting hooked as a teenager when it was popular.

Yeah I can quit any time, but she went back after quitting several times, a horrible way to go.
