The difference is that Swift writes her own stuff.
That may be. But what she writes is indistinguishable from a sh*t ton of other songs by female artists over the last 2 decades. It's just an observation. I'm not "hating" per se. What I listened to was fine. I know that she's massively popular, and I was just wondering what it is that the public thinks sets her apart.

You’ve heard the songs for sure she’s written because she wrote quite a few for other artists when she was younger as well.

I think it’s different because you can tell most of hers are personal since she writes them herself.

It’s also kind of to see here go from super cute wholesome teen to songs with *explicit* lyrics and she’s dropping F Bombs & GDs. not many female pop stars can pull that off and have moms be fine with their 12 year old listening to it.

Performance is apparently next level as everyone I’ve talked to that have been say it’s the most incredible show they’ve witnessed.

But nothing is for everyone but she’s damn close.

-I know the clown IRL, he ain't trying to be edgy.

^if my wife/girls didn't dig TS...I doubt I'd have heard any TS songs. I would however have a knowledge of who she is...it would be difficult to be *that* unaware of popular culture. She's everywhere.

The only thing Taylor swift has elite is her singing voice in which she likely gained from being a satanic copy of the past head of the lucifarian church.

In any of our worlds she is of course but to comparing her to other celebs she is a pretty girl. Does being one of the top five most recognizable faces in music right now help her attractiveness? Probably so.

I remember always being team Katy Perry when that was a topic of discussion

Was Brittany ever elite level attractiveness?

I tell you who was sneaky hot to a younger ThroughBlue, Gwen Stefani. Thanks to whoever mentioned No Doubt earlier and took me back to that.

My wife said that, as much or even more than the music, the reason she's such a big deal is that she puts on an over the top live show.
I'd definitely heard of her, but I'm not gonna lie, I thought she was a country singer. The name SOUNDS like a country singer.

Apparently* she came out to a cover of Wu-Tang Clan’s “Sound the Horns” so she’s got a pretty diverse catalog.

* this may not be accurate

Had to piss in a cup in my truck sitting in traffic waiting to pick my daughter up from a Taylor Swift concert in Nashville in May.

That’s really all I got in the Swift discussion.

-after this week's series w/ nationals...**** gets interesting. 19 straight against good teams. 6 against the co-leading brewers sandwiched around the AS break.

^we're about to find out if this is the red's year.

-regardless, I'm tickled pink to have an entertaining/relevant squad to follow.

More importantly and to be honest the Reds fans should be cheering the Cubs for the next 4 days.

Cubs vs Brewers, and 3/4 starters are Smyly, Steele and Stroman. Should be able to mix it up and at worst go 2-2. Get me 3-1 out of this and then it’s Reds/Brewers to finish the week.

I would love to see the Brewers take a 0-7 bath, but 2-5 isn’t out of the realm of possibility here!
