Well I witnessed the Cubs do this with prospects and 2 veteran pitchers, and then trade for a closer which is exactly what we needed.

I saw Houston do the same, KC as well, and I’m pretty sure it was the exact same method Atlanta and the Nationals used.

It’s not like we’ve never seen the exact same strategy pan out for 3-5 year spans for about a 1/3 of the league in the last decade or two……….you know, if you watched baseball.

I get what SAE is saying re: Huggins, but how the f do you get to a spot where you have one of the highest paid employees of the state requiring a personal driver or there’s a good chance he’ll drive drunk? It’s not like he was winning you titles either.
it's certainly not uncommon in the college football coaching world.

Until literally a couple hours ago I thought Eisenhower was on the dime and the only reason I realized he wasn’t is I did a Sporcle quiz and dime was the only unit I couldn’t name the President for.

Huggins is such a piece of ****, it’s not even worth wasting breath over.

When UC ran him out, they absolutely had good cause. And if you’re too much of a degenerate for goddamned UC….well, that tells you all you need to know about WVU. And KSU, for that matter.

Sure, sure, “he’s a down to earth laid back type, a man’s man, you’d think he was from the west side!!!!” It’s amazing how Cincy people continue to defend him. He could get elected mayor here - no joke. But then again, every west sider I’ve ever known has been a dirty drunk too.

Here’s the lesson: UC basketball is a cancerous program and anything that touches it is a shitbag.

Now I don’t mind their football program. Certainly not a “fan” in the least, but I respect their program and will flip them on on Friday night if I have nothing else going on. But their bball???? >>>>>> toxic
RACK x1000000

I’m pretty sure the main reason my UC fan husband and I worked out is that UC basketball has sucked out loud to the point the spite in him inspired by Huggins died. The football program has been pretty fun, but the basketball program can be launched straight into the sun.

I was in the second to last row at Yum for the 2015 second round game against UC, and half the arena heard the things I said about Octavious Ellis and the places I hoped he would be sent for his dirty *** play.

F Huggins, Mick Cronin, Kenyon Martin, Andy Kennedy, and everyone else affiliated with UC basketball (except Steve Logan. I always liked him).

Exactly. Look at the Rays, no way you can get to a WS or have a great run with a bunch of guys of which no one has basically heard, They’re my AL team just because I lived there for a bit and moving back there. Love those small payroll teams killing it and showing up the Yanks.

- LSU handled the World Series without their ace! It’s stupid how loaded that school is with baseball talent, and they’re all sporting mullets!

- Pool water is low 80s. Perfect to get in and rough house with my boys. Talk about a 180 from upkeep last year as we dialed in the salt water chlorinator.

Not sure if ever get another pool if we move, but the ease of this thing has made this one worth it.

- Wife’s sister is appealing the ruling where we got permanent custody. Ok, well now I’m going full bore ******* so that $4200 in child support you are behind via the state, we’ll file a motion on that and step one is your drivers license is suspended, step 2 is we take that little bit of information and turn it in to the judge who very articulately detailed her ruling and why so an appeal is seen as silly, and step 3 as you fall farther behind the state arrest you in just a few short months.

Keep wasting my time, pretty please!

- There isn’t a company I know of that isn’t down 20-30% this year from last. I love how it’s known, but not being discussed as we literally DGAF. Just give me my happiness and work some other guy into the ground.

- On the flip side the Dow is holding up. I was way wrong on that. Sure glad I don’t day trade or use the finance degree I have.

- Hearing rumors the Grizzlies could make a play for Draymond Green. I’d love to see him drop Ja Morant like he did Jordan Poole.

“ Put that pistol down son and get knocked out like your daddy used to”.

I want a new player to be a fanatic of.

-If it makes you feel better about day reading my brother thinks he’s a financial wizard with day reading and smarter than the Wall Street guys which has cost him 300K in the last 3 years and is broke now, never paid off his house with the money because he knew he’d double/triple it. No different than being a degenerate gambler.

-Shoot the construction industry is booming as far as I can tell. People have so much work if you ask for an estimate they threw an absurd number on it and if you say yes, great, if you say no they don’t lower just move on.

I was quoted around 5K to paint my kitchen cabinets by two different guys, 3 days and $400 later I saved $4600.

An acrylic tile looking shower with glass doors was quoted 12K and 14K, I’m going to do the entire bathroom, including shower myself for about 3-4K.

2 projects done myself and saved about 14-15K.

I’m still not sure how the Dow isn’t down more but then realized the FREE MONEY GIVEAWAY programs aren’t completely finished. The eviction moratoriums are all slowly ending and people will have to start paying student loans again in October - that’ll be a hell of a wake up call for a lot of people shew. The amount of morons I know that haven’t made a single payment in 3 years is staggering.

- Disappointed that two of the three CWS games were routs. But LSU just had dudes all over the field. There can't be a single drop of alcohol remaining in Omaha this morning.

- Seems like the Angels are featured in the late game on MLB Network every other night, so I've probably already watched more Angels games this season than all other seasons combined. Always nice to close the evening by watching the greatest talent of our generation, whether at the plate or on the mound.

- Taking the family and their little buddies to the Swift concert Friday night. They'd been worried sick over finding parking and how much they'd have to shell out for it, so I offered to drive them up, drop them off, then go see a show in Cincinnati featuring a comic that I've really liked for a while, but have never seen in person. Then I'll go post up somewhere and wait for them to tell me when/where to pick them up and drive them back home. Looking for space on my mantle for my "Dad of the Year" trophy.

- Fanta and Dauster co-hosting KSR today. I'm good with Dauster, but I'm a big fan of Fanta. He's over the top, to be sure, but in an era where announcers seem to have less and less distinct personalities, it's nice to still have some passion on the mic. Really enjoy his Big East work on Fox Sports.

- I know they're for simpletons, but I still enjoy a good quesadilla once in a while. Having said that, the cheese to meat/veggies ratio shouldn't be that hard. Got one from a place last night that was 99 percent chicken, 1 percent cheese. I didn't order a pollodilla, amigo.

As a fellow dad of the year who’s doing the same thing, I’d recommend picking up in Covington- having them walk over the Brent Spence and meet you at Smoke Justis where you’ll be enjoying smoked wings and iced tea.

Many friends of mine were all pushing for the student loan forgiveness which I was against personally because if you paid as you went you just get screwed while they get 10K?

Also, I know way too many people that bought/upgraded cars and motorcycles they didn’t need, used their loans to buy blow/weed/booze/Spring Break, etc and failed out. Why do they deserve to get that all back no repercussions?

$450K+ revenue on Jell-O shots in 10-11 days at the CWS. Gotta be 75% margin in those at a minimum.

Welp… so much for waiting til August for my root canal. I can hear the pain sizzling in my left ear. Woke up at 4am with what I thought was a gunshot wound. Must’ve been grinding my teeth during sleep.😣. Killing the nerve with Dr Andy tonight (whatever that means).

Portnoy is on the NYC Coal Oven push back with an epic rant. Under all that bluster, dude is a solid guy IMHO. If you haven’t tried Arturo’s on Thompson/Houston, now is the time to go.

My cousin is having us down to his beach house this weekend to set sail on his new 39’ megaboat. My kid will be saying to himself, ‘why didn’t dad start slanging insurance instead of being a loser architect?” - c'est la vie. At least my car is shiny.

**** this hurts.

Honestly I try not to take myself so serious that when I actually speak on something if I’m wrong it’s kind of a “well damn” moment when shown I’m wrong.

How can one person be so wrong ALL the time?

I mean literally, honestly, 100% of the things one poster types is wrong.

100%, WOW.

Our Sunday school class has 3 families who came from fundamentalist churches in Nicholasville and it's shocking the emotional abuse that comes from those places. You know something is off when you have a room full of Southern Baptists saying "wow you all came from a crazy conservative church"

-Tooth pain is right there with back pain as the 2 most miserable issues. The worst.

-We make 20 quesadillas per week. Easy and the kids worship.

-Re: PTI. Resistance training is a must. It's the fountain of youth. I still love a good cardio workout, mainly riding my bike, but it's just not as good for long term health as proper resistance training. Not to mention the likelihood of injury coming from going couch to 5k is probably pretty high until you get your strength up to speed. If you want to get fit and lose weight this is the order: Diet -> Lift -> Cardio.

-Sounds like we will have a full basketball team this season. Yippee!!

-Started working on pitching with little man since he's moving from CP to KP. He's all in, weird he likes pitching and fielding but not batting practice.

-Geaux Tigahs!! Just another causal Natty for the case.

The market has been buoyed by a run up in tech, which is the main holdings in damn near every mutual fund. And despite that surge, the Dow has had six consecutive negative sessions. Sugar rush, if you will.

Our analysts are still saying there’s a greater than 50% chance a recession hits in late Q3 / early Q4. Lined up right with sunsetting of loan payment deferral. Add in there’s likely two more Fed rate hikes before year end and unfortunately you have all the right conditions for a plunge.

- Veteran move is baking in an off day a day before vacation to get ish right as well as on the back-end to reassimilate.

- Weather has been *chefs kiss* this summer. Yard is dialed-in but those damn boxwoods appear dunnzo from the deep freeze.

- Guess we’re going to have to get used to Cal scrambling at the deadline to cram like a freshman ill-prepared for their first finals. Just get to the second weekend so we can justify the stress.

- Mom has been in and out of the hospital since the first of May. First thought it was lung cancer. Turned out to be an infection, treatable. Hospitals are an awful place. Do everything you can to prevent yourself from going in. And get out of there asap.

She’s on the mend but events like that in your 40’s remind you to appreciate the time you have with them.

- Finally have a few shows on the books for this summer so using that an an excuse to order this DW kit. Steep but will last until I’m too arthritic to play.

- What’s the go-to CFB preview rag these days; Phil Steele? Atholon? Lindy’s? Catpaw? BMW Unfiltered?

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.

Kentucky was lucky in 2012 when Kendall
Marshall broke his hand in Carolina’s 2nd round game against Creighton. That team was the only one that had a shot of beating the Cats in the tourney. I still think
UK was the better team but it was nice to play an outclassed Kansas team vs a revenge minded Carolina team.

Maybe the Cats were lucky in 96 when Toine decided to stay out in NOLA half the night after semi final Saturday in the SEC Tourney. He gets benched, the Cats lose in the championship and they get humbled and totally refocused for the NCAA title run.

In 98 maybe UK was lucky that Shep’s ankle injury wasn’t that bad and he recovered so quickly.

My point is that you can create your own luck but it’s nice to get breaks every now and then.

Let’s call it like it is: Cal got lucky here at the end. This roster wasn’t strategically assembled. Some of it was, sure; he recruited it. But the rest of the pieces kinda just fell in his lap. Better to be lucky than good sometimes.

I don’t care. Dude’s had enough bad luck these past 5 seasons or more , that he’s due some good luck.

Just F’ing win.

1996 and 2012 had nothing to do with luck.

Obviously those respective teams were hands down the 2 best teams in the country those years. Best team killer instincts I’ve ever seen in college basketball.

96 was arguably one the best teams ever and 2012 isn’t too far behind, IMO. Worshiped 96’s firepower and 2012 was so damn businesslike.

They each benefited from a little luck though.
