I'm sure he also planned on more than one title by now too....so we shall see, wants and reality are two different things, if he is even telling the truth. At this rate, he doesn't make it more than a year.

If he keeps sucking he won’t have a choice.
I have always wondered what the fanbase's perception of Cal would be if instead of going to 4 Final Fours in his first six years, spread them out so it is 1 Final Four every 3 years. Now to be consistent, he would still only have the one title at UK. Just curious if our mindset as a whole would be different.
This is what I’ve been SCREAMING since all of the talk about him bowing out early started last season. There is NO WAY IN _ELL he was EVER going to walk away from $9 million/year, I don’t care how much all of us complain.

Unless he has a big run this season, I just don’t see that happening.
What do ya'll expect? Him to pull a Coach K and say before the season "this will be my last year coaching" forfeiting 100% of his remaining contract. No! That isn't how it's going to work out. Seriously, ya'll smarter than that!

He thinks that. Keep losing like we have since 2020, and we'll see about that. If anyone still cares enough about UK basketball to make it uncomfortable for Mitch to keep him, that is.
Barring a minor miracle this upcoming season, I’d bet everything to mine and my wife’s name, that he won’t make it 6 more years!

He might want to stay, but if the performance of his teams doesn't get any better, he will be shown the door before 6 years for sure.
He has an early tourney exit again his seat will be hotter than hell. No way he survives.
Once he screws up next season with his dream class everything will change.
Cal NOT feeling pressure to perform at a higher level says EVERYTHING about how FAR he has fallen over the past few seasons.
Sure he will draw A LOT of money, but the criticism from ALL sides will continue to INCREASE if we fall short of another Final 4 with this roster. I just can’t understand being just fine with where UK Basketball is at this time.
Looking forward to seeing Brad take over after that.

Why would anyone believe anything he says? If UK sucks again this year, he'll be gone for sure. I believe he leaves after this season no matter what.
Cal can be bought out. If this year is like last he’s gone. And I wouldn’t believe anything that comes from his mouth. If the right program came calling he would bounce in a heartbeat.
Remember just a few years ago it seems there was always teams interested in hiring Cal during every off season. Funny how things have changed. Of course he wants to stay 6 more years, nobody else wants him anymore. If this coming season is like last season....he's toast.
