Has Ugonna been in more than four games? Could be a redshirt thing, which I begrudgingly understand.Well Lance is a captain now! Look out.

Hmm, yeah maybe.Has Ugonna been in more than four games? Could be a redshirt thing, which I begrudgingly understand.
He has, most of which have been for one minute. What a waste. Should have redshirted him.Has Ugonna been in more than four games? Could be a redshirt thing, which I begrudgingly understand.
How vital was Wheeler in those games against Tennessee?
Pics or it didn't happenI may rip my 100” TV right off my wall
We actually agree hereI'll be fine with Wheeler putting in max of 15 mins as a breather for Wallace. Dude needs a break, we need him (Wallace) long term so he needs some breathers.
Amen. And here we go again. Just a few days ago, the conscensus on this board was that Wheeler had given up on the team and was faking procedures and injuries, intentionally skipping senior day, and had quit. Where is the thread reacting to the news he is likely to play? Crickets...
Can any of you imagine how you would respond to a group of "fans" as nasty as ours? The kid can't win.
For my part, I have no idea how much he will play, whether or not he will play well, or anything else. But here is what I know: watching Wallace limping around like an old man out there at the end of games because he's trying to play 40 minutes, and then watching Thiero trying to play point guard against pressure, I welcome Wheeler back for a few minutes here and there to help the aforementioned players and this team.
And some folks here are just plain awful. I hope Wheeler plays, the OP destroys his massive TV and can't watch another game in this tournament, and we're all left thanking Wheeler for his contributions to a big win when all is said and done. If there is any justice in the world, all the haters will wind up eating crow. I'm sure some would welcome it if it means a deep run in the tournament. Others wouldn't give Wheeler any credit for all the tea in China.![]()
Doesn't that mean he isn't an impactful player? The SEC assist leader when he came here? Its crazy. Our record with and without him was near identical
Im putting Livingston at the point before I'm putting #3 in there for the postseason.Thiero has made 10 shots the entire year. Has 38 combined fouls and turnovers…yeah, let’s play him more at PG.
That's a long list of misses that continues to grow. Don't forget Harrow who was completely overmatched.Has any of Cals small guards really worked out much.. Briscoe was horrible most of the time and Wheeler reminded me of small none shooting guards that we keep getting. Askew couldn't shoot either could Ashton but we seem to get alot of none shooting guards and they play til we go down in flames and Cal finds another.
This ^. Wheeler has used UK and the team to suit himself. Time for Triple C to use him right back. When Cason is gassed Wheeler should give him a breather. And that’s all. Giving that guy major minutes would be wrong in a lot of ways. He’s a role player now and that should be it.Spot minutes to rest Wallace. No more than 5 per half.
So, are you saying his ankle has been too bad for him to get in a game for just a few minutes to help Cason ? I just can’t buy that. He wants to be a starter and major contributor but he just isn’t good enough. These kinds of threads and comments about Wheeler just piss me off and make me lose a lot of faith in the UK fanbase - or at least not want to participate in the discussions or come to this board.
These people that have ripped Wheeler all year have no clue what they are talking about. He's a good player and his coach has miserably failed him by not providing structure, direction, adjustments, etc. And even then, he's still been solid. The same issues happen whether he's on the floor or not with the possible exception of the Arkansas game where we basically had no point guard and the team played differently on their own.

Why can't sane/rational people see that 10-15 mins of Wheeler to spell Wallace is a good thing? Wallace has been run into the ground by the lack of ball-handling depth on this team. We need Wheeler to allow Wallace a break during the tournament. Now...if Calipari shoves Wheeler in the game for 30+, I may too throw something through my TV.I'll be fine with Wheeler putting in max of 15 mins as a breather for Wallace. Dude needs a break, we need him (Wallace) long term so he needs some breathers.
Yes he should get CFs minutes. The key is not having the ball in his hands as the shot clock winds down. Need to play him with Reeves and run late clock action through him.Wheeler changes pace and makes Wallace a much better scorer. I for one am excited to get him back and now I actually think he takes some or all of Fredericks minutes for reasons previously stated.
Did I say anything remotely close to what you are asking? I said what I meant. So, are you saying his ankle has been too bad for him to get in a game for just a few minutes to help Cason ? I just can’t buy that. He wants to be a starter and major contributor but he just isn’t good enough.
You pretty much nailed it man. The backup QB syndrome might be a good way to describe it. If we're not dominating people by 20+ every game, and especially if we're losing games, the fanbase will find a scapegoat, no doubt. It begins with the coach, of course, and hey- he's getting the big bucks to win so I'm OK with that- but there is always a player or two who becomes the whipping boy of BBN. Last season it was Brooks first and then Wheeler. The savior last year, greatest player since sliced bread, was Allen. As you say, it's always a guy the coach isn't playing as much. The sainthood of the player and untapped superhero abilities are used primarily to bash the coach for being a complete imbecile. This year Wheeler has been the whipping boy and Thiero was the stud, along with Ugonna. Cal played Thiero and his lack of superhero abilities became clear, so then the hidden gem was Ugonna. He would surely average a double double given the chance. But coach is too stupid to see it, according to the masses. They need a player to bash in addition to calipari when UK loses. Not if but when and anyone thinking this bunch can win it all is high and drunk and special.
If he doesn't play 2nite and we lose he's a quitter but if he plays 5 mins and we lose people will blame that 5 mins on him being the reason we lost. If we somehow win, it will be he only played 5 mins and didn't contribute. If he plays 15 to 20ins and win it will be thats gonna lose us the ksu or Montana state game and the beat goes on.
Our fans do trash players and calipari was and is 100% right saying that. Our fanbase hates Wheeler and hated brooks and has trashed topping and Livingston this year.
Then you have the golden boys that are worshipped like thiero and ugona. I guess it's backup qb being most popular guy n town syndrome. Then the great fans we have are already starting on dissing next years class and pointing out their weaknesses but for one player because of who his daddy is and where he is from. That's nauseating as well.
You do remember that we lost to Vanderbilt twice during that time?I may rip my 100” TV right off my wall
No way you can play him after him being out for 2 months and the way we rallied and played without him.
Play Thiero and Frederick…
Keep the momentum…no energy killers
2 things... he is needed to give guys breathers...and I seriously doubt you have a tv that big, you probably lie to the ladies about how big something else is tooI may rip my 100” TV right off my wall

Did you happen to see the question mark (?) after my first sentence ? A simple yes or no would have worked. Since you’re so ‘pissed off’ (your exact words) I guess you just wanted to be an ***. Triple C most assuredly hasn’t helped the kid but he’s not UK good and he’s weak. Add in that he won’t give it a go for just a few minutes and you have exactly what the majority of this board recognizes. Sorry you’re so thin skinned.Did I say anything remotely close to what you are asking? I said what I meant.

well we are only 1 game better without him, so there's that. He doesn't need to play 30 minutes a game, I'll give you that.Wheeler does nothing to help us win.
Wheeler definitively helps us lose.
Wheeler should never play even one minute. Unless it’s cigar minutes.
But since he couldn’t even show for senior night give the cigar minutes to someone else.
I do believe his ankle was too bad. Now, the ankle has improved to the level that he can , hopefully, fill in a few minutes to relieve Wallace. Sorry, you cant believe it but isnt that what is happening? So, are you saying his ankle has been too bad for him to get in a game for just a few minutes to help Cason ? I just can’t buy that. smfhMan if only Cal had played him early in the year so he could develop some ballhandling skills.
