Nothing wrong with that.Yep. Call me skeptical of anonymous posters on fan sites who claim insider information without providing any substantiation.

I get that, but look where he coached ... he started at Valpo and then went to a program where players had just murdered a teammate and the coach helped cover it up ... but eventually won a title. One Final Four in 19 years at Baylor (and I like Drew) should tell you all you need to know
Earlier in the thread I ask some team related questions, do you have any insight on those? I would think Cal info doesn't exist in a vacuumThat’s not him.
No, unfortunately when pointing out a level headed approach to things on Cal you and a few other Harvey Updike types go crazy. Sadly every fan base has them. You are part of the few here that are in this club. Why don’t YOU steady the course ? You came to the football board and tried to play the nice guy role and nobody really cares. You get combative if a UK fan takes issue with your vanilla comments. Now you’re posting on the bball board and you’re getting ‘smarter’ with everyone that’s ready for you to back off. Maybe you should let this thread go and stop talking sh*t to real UK fans.
I missed that- sorry. No, I honestly just know what I was told about Cal leaving.Earlier in the thread I ask some team related questions, do you have any insight on those? I would think Cal info doesn't exist in a vacuum
Could not care less what a fan of another team thinks about this situation. Especially one that seems to always need to have the last word. It’s odd that you inserted yourself into this thread. Carry on- you can have the last word with me for sure. No, unfortunately when pointing out a level headed approach to things on Cal you and a few other Harvey Updike types go crazy. If all this is true and not just a manager or lower staff overhearing something and passing it to a friend….then I pray that “at least 1” isn’t bc Mitch has taken the easy route and hired Antigua or bruiser on some handshake dealAt least one.
Have an opinion and offered it. No more or no less than you.Could not care less what a fan of another team thinks about this situation. Especially one that seems to always need to have the last word. Interesting. For someone that just said “oh, cool”, then asked no questions after being told Cal was leaving, you sure have updated your original post with a lot of new info that you didn’t think to get at the split second you were told Cal was leaving and didn’t ask more questions.
See why it’s hard to believe these?
Bass has a very rudimentary and brusque writing style. He’s not smart enough to disguise it that well. He’d be easy to spot. His only sock is Ed323232.One or both of them are still here. Is it any coincidence they disappear and two Cal supporters reappear in Wildcatfaninohio and bkingUK?
This is how this works every time legitimate or not.Directly from a member of UK’s basketball program. On the court.
It is Baylor. Don't act like they were battling for Final Four year in and year out prior to Drew's arrival. They were more known for murdering teammates than Final Fours prior to Drews tenure. One Final Four in 19 years at Baylor (and I like Drew) should tell you all you need to know
You have no idea what KY basketball is like. This isn't Iowa. Ignorance is bliss.Have an opinion and offered it. No more or no less than you.Message board life.....it's serious business. to you.
I believe Robic’s contract isn’t up till June is why he’s listed , but I don’t believe he’s workingHe is listed on the Athletic Dept website as "Administration" with a phone number to contact him.
Whether or not he has a strong track record of breaking news is irrelevant. the only thing that matters is if he’s telling the truth. The New York Times has a strong track record of breaking news, and I wouldn’t line a birdcage with that lousy, lying rag.As I pointed out in a couple other posts here, I stand corrected on the "newbie" comment. Instead, and I simply am speaking from experience on the Iowa boards I'm on, when someone makes a bold claim of high magnitude, does the poster have a previous strong track record of breaking news that comes true? That's my main point.
Trust me, when we as fans aren't happy with something we desperately fall prey to wanting to believe "rumors" or "predictions" that some come out with to help us believe.
As mentioned, time will tell on this.
I agree. As I said, I like Drew. He took on a nightmare and turned it into a legit program. It is Baylor. Don't act like they were battling for Final Four year in and year out prior to Drew's arrival. They were more known for murdering teammates than Final Fours prior to Drews tenure.
The ideal scenario would be for him to step down now and let the assistants take over. Then maybe we could salvage the rest of the season. The players don’t respond to him anymore and you saw how they played in the Bahamas when he wasn’t coaching. His time here has long since passed.I am just hoping this is true and Cal is leaving. As many have pointed out IF he leaves at the end of the season the new coach can use the portal and have some good players in place to help. It can be no worse the 1st year as it is this year.
But at a place like Baylor, that is actually above average for them...Other than a brief period back in the 60s or so, they have never had the success that Drew has brought to them. You can't just look at results. You have to look at results comparative to the location. Those results at UK won't fly. Those results at Baylor exceed expectations and gives him a 20 year tenure and the ability to stay as long as he wants. You can't assume that his results won't be better at UK when he has the resources UK has such as name recognition, fanbase, etc behind him. This isn't a Billy G type hire. This would be a hire of someone who has won a title and exceeded expectations at each place he has coached at. There is no reason to believe he wouldn't do the same if he coached here as well.I agree. As I said, I like Drew. He took on a nightmare and turned it into a legit program.
But, still, in 19 seasons he has 1 conference title, 3 second places and has only been past the first weekend of the NCAA tourney 5 times.
You kinda proved his point about needing the last word by responding again and being snarky (“to you”). Maybe it’s more serious to you than you realize…or you’re just an ***…Have an opinion and offered it. No more or no less than you.Message board life.....it's serious business. to you.
That's the greatest concern of the whole situation. How much say does Mitch have in the next UK basketball coach that is hired? He absolutely f'd up the last one by hiring BCG. He gets no credit for hiring Calipari as it was against his will. If it is Mitch's hire, I would expect Tommy Lloyd or some up-and-coming name...mainly because he would think he could keep that coach under his thumb. He won't want an ego like Nate Oats or Musselman or even a Sean Miller. These guys would immediately become bigger than the AD.One thing you can count on is Barnharts short list is going to give fans heartburn.
And he'll make sure the next coach stays under his thumb
What? Man you are something else there Mike-McD (yes, I know you have a few accounts).Ortho has no reason to make this up. He’s a good dude. His source might end up being wrong, but he’s a credible poster. You’re just scoffing because his prediction contradicts yours.
But the title and Final Four are recent, which implies he has figured it out.I agree. As I said, I like Drew. He took on a nightmare and turned it into a legit program.
But, still, in 19 seasons he has 1 conference title, 3 second places and has only been past the first weekend of the NCAA tourney 5 times.
Well, not actually true Harvey Jr. You think you’re a veteran know it all regarding Kentucky sports. You may know about Iowa sports but you’re irrelevant to THIS board. You’re like a phony politician shaking hands and kissing babies. When are you gonna ‘get it’ that no one here cares about your thoughts on a topic you know absolutely nothing about ?No, unfortunately when pointing out a level headed approach to things on Cal you and a few other Harvey Updike types go crazy. Sadly every fan base has them. You are part of the few here that are in this club.
I did. I could see where Chin wouldn't necessarily leave with Calipari. I could also see where he would actively try to keep recruits close to himself.Who said anything about Chin ?
Then what's the point of coming here on a daily basis, as most do? Just to say hi?I do always wonder why do people feel it neccessary to bring this type of information to a bunch of strangers on this board. Why should we be so privileged?
Really has nothing to do with who the source is. The OP’s original post and those after it are just too vague. Like I said, he may very well leave, I have no idea. There’s just not enough hereTo be fair if he said his source is Mitch Barnhart would you believe him?
You're gonna be fine....there are people that can help you through this difficult timeholy cow people are gullible and stupid.
Exactly the attitude you want in a mod. Security guard”ish”.
that is exactly what I thinkAs much as we need a change, does anyone think he will ride out this year’s clown show, then bolt before this mega class comes in? Way more likely to leave after next season.
Same number of Titles as your beloved Calipari too.One Final Four in 19 years at Baylor (and I like Drew) should tell you all you need to know
Whether his info comes to fruition or not, WTH do you want him to say. Give the time and date that CCC leaves Lex???Really has nothing to do with who the source is. The OP’s original post and those after it are just too vague. Like I said, he may very well leave, I have no idea. There’s just not enough here
Me too , especially if the incoming coach had a prior relationship with him .I did. I could see where Chin wouldn't necessarily leave with Calipari. I could also see where he would actively try to keep recruits close to himself.
Drew was never able to beat Duke and Baylor was always put in that matchup. Does play some zone though which should please some on here.I get that, but look where he coached ... he started at Valpo and then went to a program where players had just murdered a teammate and the coach helped cover it up ... but eventually won a title.
I hate when the early portion of a coach's career is used against them .... in every sport. Indianapolis sports radio was talking about Jim Harbaugh and the Colts yesterday, and they shared a story about the time the Pacers hired I. Thomas instead of Bird's up and coming assistant Rick Carlisle. Carlisle was basically told, "Don't take the job yet, because it's a complete rebuild, and your record will be awful for 3 years and haunt you for the rest of your career." That is essentially what you're doing with Scott Drew.
Like this one?Any team built around Reed will be in the NIT next season.
