These were sold at the park I grew up in. Despite their questionable shape, they were the best.

Toothpicks and Saran Wrap never worked. Neighbor had the groovy Tupperware molds for their homemade treats and all the kids drooled at the glory of the handle innovation.

What’s the *minimum* you would take to sell your soul to the oppressive Saudi regime and switch professional leagues?

It would be at least 4 figures for me. Maybe 5.

And a pinky swear promise to not murder you, cut you into pieces, sneak your body parts onto a plane, and dump you in the Mediterranean to keep from paying out your annuities.

Turned 40. It's fine.

My wife got Cubs/Cards tickets for the series over the weekend. Got up there Friday and she took the baby to go shopping and to take a nap while I went and got a single ticket behind home plate after the 1st inning for $11. Going to a game by yourself- highly recommend. Even more after a morning of air-travel with an infant (which honestly went fine). Hotdog, beer, scorebook... Did some touristy stuff Saturday morning and afternoon and then went to the night game with baby in-tow. Our tickets were in their W Club which was a nice all-inclusive upgrade. Great time. We are probably finished with the baseball season minus a minor league game or two- and my daughter made it out to about a dozen games total. Not bad.

Got to have a few beers with a fraternity brother of mine who still lives in a Wrigleyville apartment- never married, no kids, good job, still hits the town hard. His stories havent changed much sine college. I mean I guess there are aspects of each others life that we both envy.

I'm not a huge chicago syle pizza guy. Its good- I'll have it when i'm up there and enjoy it. Just more of a thin crust guy, thats all. If i'm ranking them its still
Pequods
Pizannos
All others

Entire city and surrounding area flooded last night- probably the 10th time in the last 18 months after not having experienced anything even close to it the previous 5 years we have been here. Nice little warm up for hurricane season. Put a damper on member-guest season which was supposed to kick off tomorrow.

I don't really care about the LIV tour- but we were all being naive if we didnt think most marginal and even more upper tier guys would give a **** where the money comes from. If i'm a young guy who can either take a huge guaranteed check, rather than grind out top 25's for a few years- I mean there is a lot of appeal to having more money, and not having to play as well to get it. It's still odd to see Mickelson up there with some of these nobodies, but he was the author of his own demise. The epitome of arrogance that had no bounds, if you will. I'm looking forward to reading what Billy Walters publishes about Mickelson here soon.

- Can someone explain to a nongolfball briefly what’s going on with golf?

- Very curious to see how bigga leap Levis has in him this season.

- Man that Fredrick article has me hype. Kid could be throwing darts Lamb/Ford/Mills style - like hitting half.

- Really, doing anything by myself at my age is awesome. People wonder why men stop making new friends in their 30s/40s. It’s simple- I barely get to see the buddies I already have established relationships with and, more importantly, we’re around humans enough. I yearn for silence.

- You’ll never hear me take a condescending or concerned tone toward a lifelong bachelor. I see the upside and appeal. Happy where I am but it’s not the only way.

- I was skeptical but the new Newport on the Levee is a good hang - especially in the summer with toddler in tow. Wife and I can stroll her down there, pick up some drinks, a bite, walk around. Not bad.

- The Bahamas envy and bellyaching is nectar. Can’t afford it? Get a better job. I’ll send you snaps halfcocked on rumdums watching Tschibwe throwing up 30/30s. Sprinkles.

-wyvern can play the guitar *very*well. HK is figuring the tech stuff out...recording software and such. @Bonzo Cat joining us in a month or so. Giddy up.

-I've missed playing with folks, stimulates the creative part of the mind. Love writing/recording original compositions.

^I have copies of stuff my bands recorded from age 15-35. Gonna break that out for the girls some rainy day...just gotta find a cassette deck for the early stuff.

My buddies’ Southgate Revival concert was awesome. Cheap High Life, nice venue, saw some old friends and they sounded pretty good actually. Played their own music.

Greg Norman along with Phil Mickelson have teamed up with the Saudis to start a new league called LIV Golf. The PGA is pissed because they see them as direct competition. LIV will pay players much more guaranteed money no matter where they place each event and their caddies get better pay and expenses paid as well. Players on the PGA Tour are independent contractors and if they do not place high in a tournament they get paid peanuts compared to a LIV event and have to pay their caddies and living expenses for the week out of their own pocket. Comes down to the PGA is terrified they will lose their talent to LIV which will kill their ratings and sponsorships so are playing hardball with their players now. Some are jumping ship to LIV. Its going to end up in the courts but the question remains how long will it take LIV to get a TV deal and bring in big revenue to justify the crazy money they are throwing out to players right now.

The 30 for 30 will begin production as soon as Phil or DJ go missing bc the Saudis don’t want to pay out the $125mm-$200mm contract fee.

Big day planned tomorrow.

- sharpen up the wardrobe
- adopt cute nickname like “Jaw,” or “Cheek,” or something
- buy brightly colored designer shades

Then go land a big *** job and a huge pay raise. Marcus.

The PGA hasnt really lost a huge likeable target in there prime yet- but its probably going to happen sooner or later. DJ isnt really the most marketable- his wife would get more headlines for walking the course wearing yoga pants. Fowler never had the game to back up his brand, Bryson/Reed/Na are pretty much universally made fun of by the rest of the tour. But when one of the starlets decides he's in- a lot more heads will probably start to look in that direction.

The PGA could have maybe tried to combat this a bit more- its been coming for a few years, and they really didnt do anything. Week in/week out its a pretty stale product. Even the majors can lean toward meh. Their tech side is garbage- the app sucks, they yank down accounts for sharing content, they've survived on using Tiger's popularity for almost 30 years... This has been attempted before, but with real money behind it now- its pretty damn big.

So if they join LIV are they no longer eligible for PGA events? So like Dustin Johnson will never play in the Masters/US Open/etc anymore?
