He was asked about him and Livingstons goals at UK and said "we want to go far into our college season and get out of there as soon as possible" LMAO UK has become a joke as far as whether our players even want to be here. I get that they all have dreams of playing in the NBA but my lord. About 3 min mark if you want to watch.

My goodness somebody needs to give that lad some media relations training. God forbid he was to make it to the league actually telling the press the truth. Never fear Cal will take care of that pesky honesty soon enough.
I mean, yeah it's this. Most players won't just come out and say it, and many are coached to make it more palatable to fans. But don't kid yourself, every kid with a dream to make millions and play in the NBA would leave the second they felt they would be drafted in a position they were comfortable with.

How does no one see a problem with this?

Cal has gone from having to convince players to leave because they love it here (MKG, Cousins, etc.) to having them want to be gone before they even show up!

Why should they try hard in March when they’re just extending an experience they want over ASAP?
Well to play devils advocate, the kid isn’t here yet. Who’s to say he won’t love it just as much as MKG?

Can you imagine MKG thinking much less saying in a press conference I want out of here ASAP?

We don’t hate one and dones around here, we hate the mercenary attitude. MKG was no mercenary, he was all heart.
MKG certainly seemed to enjoy his experience and left it all on the court, but by his actions you can see he had the same mindset lol.

Just because Cason said the quiet part out loud doesn't mean he'll be a bad teammate, not enjoy his time here, and not play with heart and try his best to win every game. It doesn't mean he will either but it certainly doesn't rule it out.

Wow. Just wow

I always remember Wall saying he met with Cal and told him he was coming back. Cal told him no and he had to leave and he went to his dorm and cried all night and watched replays of games from the season.

Now it’s come to this.
Lol, wait...you actually believed that? 🤣

Guys like MKG and Wall had to be told by Cal they *had* to leave, and they were guaranteed top 5 draft picks.

You think that’s the same as “I can’t wait to get out of there ASAP”? The same as Sharpe not even being willing to play? We’ve come a long way smh.

I'm going to give you all a little insight most none of you will want to hear: it's not the culture Cal has created, it's the culture the fans have created! No players want to deal with most UK fans because of how unbearably ridiculous many have become. They want to get as far away from them as quickly as possible.
So you think they come here for a year to be miserable? But just for that one year they want to be miserable. Might be the dumbest post I’ve ever seen. They could easily go to one of the other thousands of schools.

I don't believe they would have stayed in the end, and I have doubts that really happened. One was the #1 pick and another the #2. The kids have goals and dreams and when it's staring you in the eyes you don't turn it down.

Either way, whether you come out and state it plainly or demonstrate it with your actions the end result is the same. You may find the latter more palatable but it doesn't change the outcome. Let's wait to see how Cason carries himself during the season before we persecute a kid with little or no PR training who plainly stated his goal is to get to the NBA asap.

Same fans for many years. The love UK fans show the players when the give their all is unmatched. Disagree with your take wholeheartedly.

After watching the video I didn’t see anything wrong with what he said, that’s what every good player wants to do go far into the season and leave for the NBA.
As far as him saying he’s not a recruiter well he’s not and I took it as he’s not good at talking to other players like that.

Not me. Recruit quickness and shooting. I see plenty of it all across college bb.

Cal is looking for guys who want to play just 1 year and they’re looking for him. Cal is dead in the water.
The only reason those kids stay is because they aren't good enough for the NBA or have a different preferred career. If they were lotto picks they'd go too.
