The ONLY option I could come up with is Drew from Baylor.
That's probably the only realistic option but I think it might be tough to lure him away. He's got a pretty nice thing going at Baylor and they'll name the court after him. I honestly think in both college basketball and football it's just better to stay at a school where you're the king instead of going to a blue blood and failing to live up to expectations. It's why Stoops probably has the best job in America. The ONLY option I could come up with is Drew from Baylor.
Brad Stevens
People need to get this name out of their head. Brad Stevens is absolutely not leaving a premier NBA franchise where he gets an actual offseason to come to a meat grinder of a college basketball program. He already turned down Indiana at $10 million a year. Successful NBA coaches are not going back to college.Brad Stevens
Was 10 million confirmed? Wow!People need to get this name out of their head. Arizona is already a (arguably) top 10 job in the country and you know they would offer him any and everything to get him to stay. Why would you leave if you were him as it looks like he is building a dynasty over there for the next 5-10 years. Why do people think Tommy Lloyd is a long shot?
He's been on Arizona for only a year and already has him rolling. It's not like Arizona is some chump school, they have some history. Why leave that so quickly? He's also spent his career on the west coast. I just don't see why he would leave Arizona after a year (or two if we're having this conversation next year). He's more realistic than Few, Write, or Stevens, but I still think he's one of the more unrealistic ones. Why do people think Tommy Lloyd is a long shot?
Agreed, the fact that Zona is already a top job in the sport would make it tough. He's been on Arizona for only a year and already has him rolling. The difference between the 2 jobs isnt as big as you think where you could just say he should come here "because it is Kentucky".Because it is Kentucky.

Sampson would be Tubby 2.0 (last 5 years version). How bout Kelvin Sampson?
He just signed his own lifetime contract at Auburn. Also, I don’t think our fans would embrace him here.Easy, Bruce Pearl. Might not be sexy on TV or in media rooms but he’s living in the modern era. Let’s get him while he still has some juice and fire.
He is a chicken **** cheating scumbag. Unworthy.Give me Bruce Pearl. I know people hate the idea but he’s successful everywhere he goes, recruits well, plays modern basketball, and his teams always play hard. Call him a cheat or whatever but they all have done it. Players got things under the table even when Tubby was here. If he had our resources and NIL money I think he’d be a slam dunk. JMO. Don’t shoot the messenger.
Tommy Lloyd.Tommy Llyod (although I think it is pretty unlikely he comes here), Mark Few, Scott Drew. And then the next group of guys include guys like Pearl and Musselman.
Yeah I know, hiring the nations coach of the year during his first year of being a head coach is such a ridiculous idea, right?Tommy Lloyd.![]()
The harsh truth for many to hear. To coaching candidates the difference between Arizona and UK isn't big enough to give up and start over when you've got a good thing going and the difference between UK and Kansas, UNC, or Duke is nonexistent. The difference between the 2 jobs isnt as big as you think where you could just say he should come here "because it is Kentucky".
Building a dynasty? People have lost their minds on this board. First Oates, then Holtman, now Lloyd. Another flavor of the month. It’s getting comicalBecause it is Kentucky.
Yes. Yea it is.Yeah I know, hiring the nations coach of the year during his first year of being a head coach is such a ridiculous idea, right?

I really don't know if he would. Is there a single successful NBA head coach in the last 20 years that's returned to college? It's not about not wanting to come to Kentucky. It's about not wanting to go back to coaching college. He won't come here, but that's a dog sh*t job and he'd think a bit if Kentucky offered, don't think he wouldn't.
Was 10 million confirmed? Wow!
