Good news is that the UK game won’t overlap. @Bama is a tough place to play. Will be interesting to watch how KD Johnson and Wendell handle bama’s back court defensively. Front court though, I don’t think bama has a hope in hell of controlling Jabari and Kessler on one end while trying to get through them on the other. Bama has lived and died by their back court this season

I think AU is the cream of the crop in the SEC this year. If Wheeler gets healthy and Cal grows a brain and plays Sharpe (looking less likely on both fronts), that may change by March. We will see.

What sucks is our only game against them is at their place. Really wish we had a home game against them too. So, definitely rooting for Bama.

The SEC's unbalanced schedule is a joke and always hurts UK and benefits our competition it seems.

As I mentioned in another thread, when OU and TX join we should play everyone 1 time each year and then VU, TN and FL twice. That will help some I think. That way, the SEC has to let us play a home again every other year against Bama, AU, LSU, etc, and the other year a road game. None of this nonsense where they cherrypick who UK plays twice based on toughest opponents and TV ratings.

I know Auburn is really good, but if Florida didn’t make a bad mistake every other play last Saturday, they might have won. They would hit a couple shots to get within 2 or 3, then fumble the ball away on their next 2 possessions. They had Auburn scared.

Honestly I feel like it's a bit soon to be saying this and this team needs to lose and we should root for this team to beat this other team.

Auburn is very good and will challenge for the SEC title.
Alabama is also very good and will challenge for the SEC title.

There could easily be a situation where we look at this two months from now and Alabama is the one we want to see lose instead of Auburn lol.

I prefer to just these things play out and as far as UK goes they just need to take care of business tonight vs Vandy and then get a resume building win vs UT.

Good news in my opinion is that someone has to lose.

But it's at Alabama, I fully expect the fix to be in for Auburn on the road. I'd think when Bama' plays @Auburn later in the year, the favor will be returned.

If AU just loses 2, we might as well fast forward to the SEC Tournament because they will win the conference by 2-3 games minimum if that is the case.

I would love to go undefeated in conference play too but the SEC is loaded this year, there was zero chance of that happening.

Wheeler won’t be out long and I think UK is better than Auburn even if Sharpe doesn’t play. Although I think it is likely he will play.

I just don't see AU not playing with maximum effort through conference play. They may have an odd night they come out flat and there may be one game where UT or UK show up and play to their ability, but just can't see losing more than 2 games barring injury or suspensions. Those players know they are better than most teams they play and Pearl is not going to let them coast.

Yeah. Never expected that to happen..lol. We are not far and away the most talented team like in some years past and Cal has had more than his fair share of teams having slow starts in those midweek conference games against mediocre competition. We finish top 4 and make an inspired run in the SEC tourney maybe we get a 3 or 4 seed in the NCAA's. I'm not expecting more.
