Lolz. I've been living my life, bub. Weddings. Bars. Gym. House parties. Not too worried about much other than my son who remains too young to be vaccinated (I'll keep you posted). Happy to be PRO VACCINE. The rest is theater ********. JMO.

-Ted Lasso and Yellowstone are terrible. Didn't make it through the first season on either.
I disagree about Ted Lasso. Just don't go bashing me this time to BBdk, he tells me everything, btw.

I hate the way characters looking at text messages and emails in most shows is handled. Usually shown at a weird angle and not clear forcing me to get up walk up to the tv to read what they say. This makes me appreciate how Sherlock handled it with pop up bubbles with the text on the screen.

-never needed subtitles on any english speaking show, whatevs.

-the great is really really good.

-lasso season one is good. Season two is fine. Its a feel good "dramedy"...scratches an itch. Have to be pretty cynical not to enjoy.

-yellowstone is 100% network tv schlock with cursing and sex. NCIS YELLOWSTONE, SVU!!!

-spring football is only a few months away, gang.

I don't use subtitles for dialect reasons, I use it because streaming services have god awful audio mixing.

Super important dialogue that is absolutely necessary to follow the plot? We'll set that at about 5 decibels.

Transition music or random sound effect? Let's burst the speakers that just got cranked because I wanted to hear wtf people were saying.

Beautiful day here, 75 and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. Scooted to the dog park with the pup in tow. Shirt off, flops on and listening to a book on audible while the dog runs with his pals.

Getting way too used to not working, need my equipment to get here soon (the 10th) or I may have lost all desire to work.
-I'm still frustrated by Cal's substitutions, and a couple of those BIG lineups were complete trash, but throw last night out. Anomaly. If we play large portions of a road game without 3 of our 4 best players, we're going to most likely lose. On to the next one and paste those bitches in Tampa.

-Glad we saw a little out of Mintz. Love that guy and he's been awful all season.

-Programs/Franchises at all levels add people mid-season. Especially pro teams I have no idea why that's such an issue for CBB. If he can help, he should play.

-6a workout after Tuesday night games, suck. Was 11:30 before I finally fell asleep.

-Ope, what a great Midwestern word. "Ope, sorry, gonna squeeze right by ya." So polite.

-Plant based chorizo? What the **** are we even doing? What has happened the last few years. Not everything needs to be hippie-fied.

-Kid maskers are just the worst. Well not worse than school closure people(great job Chicago/NJ), but right after that, and I'm assuming they overlap. Time we just leave the kiddos alone and get things back to normal for them.

-Almost finished with the new season of Cobra Kai, they just keep delivering with that series. The Johnny training beach montage is just f*cking fantastic.

-Let's get enough snow I can take the little guy sledding.

-Dave Leonhardt at NYT has become the best mainstream read on Rona.

-Winter certainly has the best sunrise/sunsets, they've been awesome lately.
Best sunsets here are 100% when cold fronts come in. Not sure the science behind it but they are on another level.
I never saw that monkey but there were these two guys that lived on Euclid, right down from the Taco Bell, Mike and Tommy I think. Anyway, their house was where we all ended up after Lynagh’s Emporium closed down for the night. They had this huge, bad ***, iguana that just roamed around the house. He was much cooler, and much less dangerous, than some crazy *** monkey.
Nothing like an iguana walking around shitting everywhere 😆. Can’t imagine the smell of that place. We shoot them out of trees and let the dogs kill ‘em round herrr.
Cobra Kai is dope. It knows what it is. Cheesy yet hilariously self aware, with a ton of fan service. Surprisingly good character arcs as well. Johnny is the GOAT.
My wife rolls her eyes with all the over-the-top violence but it's better than the ******** Yellowstone she worships. S4 was ridiculous.

Would Kevin Costner's character really GAF about some whiny granola *** EPA/PETA type activist? No.
Any guy that thinks cheesy as karate which is total ******** is better than Yellowstone is an unAmerican loser. Sure you thought you were a badass taking ninja classes is 4-7th grade, very cool, but that’s long over and a total waste of time.

Any person equally trained in BJJ/wrestling or boxing would wax the floor with a “karate person” whatever they’re called. Oh not the argument you were making well don’t worry I did. That being said I don’t have a problem and can enjoy cobra Kai it’s just not even close to Yellowstone.

The season of Yellowstone was an embarrassment to TV. They basically took one of the better characters (Casey) almost completely out of the show, and gave his sister way more storyline than necessary. If she didnt survive last season's finale- that would have been the best possible outcome. And dont get me started on this random finding a lost creepy weird boy and just taking him home. WTF was that? And no way in hell that hot vet gal would have anything to do with Jimmy. Why is that not bothersome to everyone else?
Johnny spin-kicking the waves in that Beach scene was lulz. And the scene at the end setting up next season was a nice way to end it and give something to look forward to. Still need some devoted Elizabeth Shue storylines. Thats maybe one of the very few things on netflix now that are worth a ****.

I think 75% of people I know have covid right now. Ranging from being on oxygen to not having a single symptom. Im just hoping we can duck it a couple more weeks before the baby arrives, and maybe it will burn out for the time being. What an effing mess.

Travel companies have quit extending redemptions for covid vouchers so a euro trip we had planned in March of 2020, we have to take by the end of the year or just forfeit the thousands of dollars already spent. So I guess in the fall we'll be going back over, with child in tow.

Great to live in a city thats a melting pot of other SEC alums. Makes the bi-weekly loss even that much better. I dont think we are better than UT, Auburn, and Alabama- mixed in with the likely KU loss with a couple of random other letdowns and its shaping up for a great selection sunday.
Hey pal, not sure why you think everyone cares so much about your personal life involving tv.

Shorten it up Sally.

I don’t remember it taking dumps all over the place, but we were all too high/drunk/both to notice. Also, Tommy was gay, that place was immaculate.

Dirk going up in rafters in Dallas.

Didn't someone mention he had stated he would have gone to Kentucky if he played college ball?

If so, he is right up there with Gunther Behnke in all time what ifs with Kentucky basketball.

We did get Woo though.
Yes, Dirk and Gunther had identical basketball careers.

I use subtitles for damn near everything now because I’m turning into my dad and can’t hear for ****. Still not at his level where the walls need to be shaking to follow a conversation but I’m sure it’s inevitable.

  • Swapped out my dining room pendants for new light fixtures… transformed my house. Nice little $400 investment. Fresh.

  • I’m a complete sucker for small kitchen appliances and gadgets. Not going into my coffee setup(s), but replaced my Proline Toaster for a classic/iconic Dualit 4-slice in “Smoke”. 🔥 Williams Sonoma may as well take all my money.

  • Sent my knives away to @knifeaid. Cant wait to get them back.

  • Working from home again. Yes, please.

  • Get well, Krazy.

  • One of the Broadway Hyenas from Lion King is now following me on Instagram. At first I thought it was cute (to share with my boy)… now kinda creeped out.

  • wife snagged me a Triple Stave Finished Bardstown BCo Giftshop release when she was in KY. That thing is delish.

  • I miss football season already. Bama by 5.

Looks like schools back home are preemptively canceling school the rest of the week because of Winter Weather. Except they're sending all the kids home with laptops to do online learning. Snow days are dead.

Great. Just got notice of a direct exposure in my daughter's class, which of course now means... nothing for us. She's vaccinated.

Archdiocese FTW.
Be careful, they’re saying these vax/boosters lose a LOT of efficacy after just two months now.

-Same here @B.B.d.K. somehow I turned on subtitles and now I love them, been that way for a few years now.

-Paramount does have Mayor Of Kingston which the first couple episodes were great, plus 1883, plus apparently Beavis and Butthead soon.

Lolz. I've been living my life, bub. Weddings. Bars. Gym. House parties. Not too worried about much other than my son who remains too young to be vaccinated (I'll keep you posted). Happy to be PRO VACCINE. The rest is theater ********. JMO.

-This post alone made me know why I never want to hangout with SAE, what a dork. But yes stay away from Moderna for the boy, myocarditis and whatnot.

-No way would I EVER want to be chipped. How am I supposed to pay my weed guy? Also don’t need the world and every hacker knowing everything I spend my money on. Just grab a CC and $1-300 cash and your “wallet” is this >-< big.

I'm glad to see some similar opinions to mine re: Yellowstone, was beginning to think I was alone. Seeing Costner back in something was cool and the landscape, of course...but I made it about 4 episodes.

Wife loves it.

Sitting in the ER, this poor little girl is wimpering and moaning in pain, maybe 2/3 years old, and I’ve seen 4 adults called back.

Gave the administer permission to call when it’s my turn and I’ll just wait outside.

Sure she is a kid, but give up your spot in line knowing your next anyway and let this little girl get home and back in a bed.

- Agree with this season of "Yellowstone" being trash. But I'm still enjoying it for Rip and for the overhead sweeping shots of Big Sky Country. I'll probably just keep watching it because at the end of a long Sunday, I enjoy some mindless shootin' and backstabbin'.

- Speaking of big sky country, I'll be tuning in Saturday to watch the FCS title game between North Dakota and MY Montana State Bobcats. Loved Bozeman* enough to take a passing interest in their hometown team this season. Seeing their semifinal tilt on a snowy field with the mountains in the background was a nice change from seeing all the bowl games in antiseptic roofed stadiums or warm-weather locales.

*would pick Whitefish over it, but still.

- New TV season I'm looking forward to...."After Life". It's not for everyone, but it's really resonated with me, and Ricky Gervais is pretty genius, IMO.

- He's no longer on my list of Cal replacements, but I still really enjoy listening to Buzz Williams talk hoops. He's got a great backstory himself, and listening to him break down a game afterwards is really interesting. Thought he'd recruit at a higher level at TAMU, and they barely squeaked past Georgia last night. But at Marquette and at VA Tech, it wasn't until years 4-5 that the wins really arrived, so maybe that's just his trend. An eccentric dude, to be sure, but I like him a lot.

- One of wife's employees can't come back to the office for 24 DAYS because of COVID. Federal unions, man. The worst.

- Fond memories of January/February Saturday mornings as a youngster. Head to the gym for a rec league game at 9 or 10, stay and watch my buddies' games, head out to McDonalds for lunch with our families, and then home in time to watch Tom Hammond and Joe Dean call whatever 1:00 Jefferson-Pilot game was airing that day. Do that for about eight straight Saturdays=profit.

-Sorry to be sappy, but while GYERO after a big BB/FB win is the best, a close second is seeing GYERO moms/dads with their kids on social media. Gives me ALL THE FEELS, etc.

During the school shutdowns, parents were getting criminally charged for their kids not participating in dumbass NTI classes -- which is absolute ********. Going outside with your buddies is 100% better education than listening to some school teacher in her PJs yammer over zoom about nothing.

Some sensitivity regarding Cal on this thread so I'm going to qualify this point by saying...I still think this team is good, possibly F4 good if healthy...and, Cal gets full credit for that.

However...

KSR, mainly Drew, made this point today and I have certainly noticed it...Cal and the coaches seem to be in full blown "oh snap there is a fire! Nobody freak out! I'm not freaking out you are freaking out! LOUD NOISES!" mode at all times. This is a veteran squad...even with TyTy's injury we had two juniors, a RS sophomore, and two seniors in the backcourt playing the majority of minutes. I just figured we would get a dialed back Cal given the experience he has and the trust he should have in some battle tested guys, but it doesn't seem that way.

Because they are all new regardless of experience, and at this point who do you trust?

“when healthy” we still have a team enough to play and win with a few players down. You just have to find a way.

If anything, at this point, last night showed just how tight of a thumb Cal is putting down. The players should know to kick it to the wing to feed the post, Mintz should know when the scramble happened someone was behind him to keep the ball plenty out in front.

Plenty of blame to go around everywhere, but at the end of the day give credit to LSU for a tough home win.

Speaking of subtitles, I'm about a decade late to Downton Abbey but that show is 🔥.

that’s the one that got Brandi Leigh rolling with the mandatory sub -titles in my humble home -

and she STILL loses complete track of plots and characters a one interrogates one of us about midway through any show — “nowww...who IS that man again??”. “is he even OLD ENOUGH to be dating that young thang?”

keeps the monkey talk at bay though

I feel great today. Woke up nice and refreshed. Had a morning cup of coffee and a light, healthy meal. Went for a 6 mile run and did a little strength and ab work in the gym after. Ran some errands and tidy'd up the house a bit. Felt so rejuvenated and relaxed, so I took the dog for a nice long walk. Just an awesome, healthy, fun day in the beautiful winter weather.

So, where's the best place to get tested for COVID today?

have your knees ever acted up on you b/c of the running?

some people don’t seem to be as affected by it -

i used to run and was surprised at how cathartic it was -

BUT one knee started just - “giving way” and suddenly feeling like bone was jammed against soft tissue - REALLY gross and unsettling

Anyway - have you had any chronic conditions like that pop up fm running?
