I mean seriously: Louisville, Duke, UNC, Kansas, Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin, UCONN, Memphis, etc etc etc are out. I think that’s pretty much any team I’ve disliked for more than 5 minutes in the last 20 years that’s lost or didn’t make it. On the main board there is not one single trash talking thread from a rival fan. Not one. What a great year for that to happen. #blessed

And when we have a losing record again next year let's hope the same thing is happening to our rivals.

I've been saying for a while now that the ****** officiating is a strategy by the NCAA to take away athletic advantage. All those charges on slashers add up, and make shooters more valuable.

They have been calling charges this way for 30 f'ing years. We get it; you all want players to be able to run right into anyone and have it be called a block, and won't be happy until it's like the NBA All-Star game where there is no help-side defense. It's not going to happen, so quit asking!

- I was about to say that "Bill Self sucks" is a god-awful take (and it is), but Andy Katz just released his ranking of the 16 remaining teams and has Oregon State rated ahead of Syracuse, Florida State, UCLA and Houston, so he wins. Or loses. Depending on your viewpoint.

- I wish that hood ornament would stop singing that Pet Shop Boys song. I have no idea who came up with that ad, but I want whatever they're on.

- Seth Davis and Wally Szczerbiak being on the same studio panel is an All-Eyebrows Team for the ages. Even Willy probably watches them with a tinge of jealousy.

- One thing I'll miss this year....those behind-the-scenes features on teams who have made it to the second weekend where they follow the team through the first weekend, then back home for that week between games. Always gave great insight. Guess this year, they'll just show the kids coming to the hotel room door to get their pre-packaged meals before going back inside.

* Oregon State is the one team I had to do a double take on, and completely forgot they were even in the Big Dance at all.

* I hate getting accidentally "tricked" into flipping it over to women's basketball. Like when you're scrolling thru the channels in the 1st/2nd round....

"oh, sweet. this villanova-usc game looks awesome!"

** clicks on channel, sees nothing but ponytails and dribbling **

Ugh.

- The reals create a special NCAA Tournament channel "favorites" guide consisting of CBS, CBS Sports Network, TBS, TNT, and TruTV. And then just stay on that for the entirety of March.

- Hate to break it to you, Richie, but that coaches convention is probably all virtual, so no glad-handing in Indy, I presume. But yes...Justus should at least be clicking "like" on any Instagram post by a Division I athletic director, just to get his name out there.

Justus should put out a statement like Rick about how he's super happy at Kentucky and would definitely never want to go elsewhere if there's writing on the wall he needs to GTFO.

And there better be some MF graffiti all over his porch about it.

We can wish for Cal to change all we want but if it comes down to an Dontaie Allen-type shooter vs a Kahlil Whitney-type athlete getting playing time... we know who he's picking.

We all know the downfalls of turbo jacking a lot of 3's as we saw numerous times in the 90's but gd it is just more fun.

-Happy for Anth and his excitement for George's TBall team. I remember when I was that excited about youth baseball. I was wrangled into joining the League Board, both kids are on travel teams, I've helped coach both Tball and Coach Pitch teams, and now as a board member, I get to help do tryouts with several hundred kids, and because summer travel ball schedules have not been released yet, it makes it tougher and tougher to plan any form of a family summer vacation. Hey, at least the kids are having fun right?

Enjoy it as long as you can Anth. It goes by way too quickly and for involved parents can become a chore instead of fun.

-Leave Lex Thursday at 7AM and will be in south beach by 11:15AM. Then Gulfstream the rest of the day, Friday, & Saturday. Drinking to excess, betting on the horses, poker at the casino, and all the stone crab one man can eat from sun up to sun down. Sunday some deep sea fishing then back to reality. Lessss GO

-Many thanks to Geese for inviting me over to sample several of his high end, delicious bourbons Saturday night. Way better than the rot gut brown water I normally am forced to drink.

The NCAA changed the block/charge rule back in 2013 or 14 to the defender had to be in legal guarding position before the offensive player began their "upward motion" of the shot. Charges went waaaaay down. Coaches complained and got the rule changed back after 1 year.

Block/charges are called this way because that's what coaches want.

Change the rule, don't change the rule, I don't really care as it doesn't keep me up at night.

But it's pretty much a consensus on here that nobody likes the charge rules. So it's now a lazy, boring take to keep talking about it. Either provide some new insight on it, or shut the f up.

It might be what a handful of coaches want, specifically bastards like K, but there is no way the majority of coaches want that rule the way it is.

The majority of the NCAA men's basketball rules committee that made these changes is made up of coaches. The rest of the committee is made up of AD's. If they wanted it changed they would change it.
