Boston’s fragile ego at the expense of team success. Pathetic
BINGO!!

To Cal, BJ's future is MORE Valuable than Dontai's. Therefore, BJ can screw up WAY MORE than Dontai and stay in the game, even if it means LOSING. So when Cal starts SPEWING all of his TIRED cliche's again, you know it's just BULL CRAP!!

I don't see why people are confused by Cal's comment. De'Aaron Fox spelled it out for everybody in that Barstool. KSR article where he stated "Cal doesn't care about winning games, he cares about getting players ready for the NBA".

So UK is paying Cal $9 million/year to help the NBA instead of winning games and Championships. Let that sink in.

He was asked why Allen and Toppin didn't start the second half and answer was he wants to win every game he coaches but doesn't want to take their heart away.
That is such complete ********. If he's acting like they didnt play well enough or compete well enough to start the half, compared to who he actually started....He's wrong. Can someone PLZ tell me WTF he is even saying? Does ANY of that mess makes sense to most of y'all? Does the dude have dementia? Do I freaking have dementia and just Don't understand what he's saying? Some one explain it to me.

I don’t understand the comment, to be honest.
It’s all about Boston. If Boston fails Cal fails. It’s a fact when Allen is in the game it opens it up for everyone and Cal can’t see it. When Allen forced a jump ball call in the second half we were up 43-41. That was a good defensive play and out he went and out went our chances of winning the game.

Even though many have suspected it but Cal actually saying it out loud shocked me.Is he really that clueless that he isn't aware of how fans would take those remarks?

That’s proven when you look at the minutes played for the season. As of today Boston has played more minutes this season then anyone on the team. That’s ridiculous.

To the Cal nut huggers: what MORE PROOF do you need ? From Cal's own mouth, again: he's telling you he WILL play his 5 star golden boys ahead of guys who, you know, actually give us a chance to compete and win.
Yeah I made a similar post last night. Except I called Cal something I regret and posters suggested I log off and calm down, which I did until now. But yeah, I don’t see how anyone can say anything else. Several have been saying this for a long time. There’s the proof.

Well we won’t be playing in March this season. Sub .500 doesn’t even get you a NIT invite!
So what is Cal playing for this season genius?
June. Or whenever the NBA draft occurs this year. That's all he is playing for.

Cal has done his best to communicate this fact to the fan base, and some just refuse to accept that Cal puts more value on the NBA draft than he does NCAA Championships at UK.

He has not even tried to hide that fact from fans.

It means that the NBA draft, aka the most important day in UK basketball history,
determines whether or not we have had a successful season. Therefore, I cannot afford to take these players out of the game and hurt their feelings and consequently, their draft status!

I really don't understand it at this point, I really don't.
I think it’s all about Boston’s NBA stock.

It’s clearly SO important to Cal that he produces NBA draft picks every year. And since Boston is his highest rated pro prospect, he thinks he must give him the most minutes and shots no matter what, come hell or high water.

I think having a kid who was projected as a top-5 pick go undrafted is one of Cal’s worst nightmares. He’s deathly afraid of losing his reputation as the NBA star maker.

As for the buyout the best thing for MB to do is meet with him privately and tell him it’s ok if he wants to go elsewhere . That he will give him his best recommendation that it’s really not in the best interest of the school for him to stay . Ask if he’ll give at least six months notice ?
And tell him we appreciate his time here but it’s just no longer working out .
We can’t afford a buyout but its really in our best interest if you relocate.
Do that and he will go of his own accord as soon as he locates another school to take his NBA factory to .

What happened to the age old philosophy of earning your PT? Did that change recently?

Apparently Cal has changed his mind about UK basketball not being based "communism" or "socialism". Maybe he is planning on giving out participation rings at the end of this season. UK BB is but a shell of what it once was. Pearl and Barnes have got Cal's number.

Before the left leaners start getting chippy and on my a$$ about saying communism and socialism those were Cal's words in the past.. Not mine.
