Askew is showing a lot of improvement over the first few games of the year, so I'll give him a lot of credit for his play tonight. Sarr also hit some crucial shots.

We just need to continue to have our other post players handle the ball better. Some unnecessary turnovers down there tonight.

But hey, I'll take any wins we can at this point. I hope this game is a sign for good things to come.

I've heard that Howland is probably the most disliked coach in the SEC. Even the players hate him and this was coming from a MSU alumnus that played football there.

Unfortunately, that means Boston and/or Clarke has to sit.

Actually, Starkville has been a very difficult place to win over the years. It's a road win for a team that was 1-6 prior but I'll take it. Cal's 15-0 vs. State but quite a few of those games were close in Starkville.

Plus Miss St didn't even have Molier for 2 of their losses I believe and Liberty who beat them did so by hitting 19 3s. Most teams lose when your opponent hits 19 3s. They have been 59% from the FT line and could have easily been 8-1 like the announcers said. Either way it's a F-ing SEC road win!

Yep. The lane completely opened up for Askew at the end of the game to drive that make that hoop and that was entirely based on having a shooter out there on the wing.

As far as Cal doing that, we'll see. I think Allen keeps playing like this tho, it kinda forces his hand.


As much as we struggle on offense, there's really no justification for not having him out there right now.

At the end of the day Boston and Clarke still need to figure this out or we are going nowhere but it is nice to have another guy in Allen that can make shots.

I mean we did see this movie last year where Whitney got big minutes and tons of shots early on and then Cal benched him so it's not inconceivable.
