National Champs.

Every year before the season I dream game settings. Watching plays in my mind's eye. Focusing on players.

This year.......it's so hard to do. I can't see them in my dreamy state, my imagination. They are so new. The team is new.

Yet, I feel like this squad will pan out to be one of UK's all time great teams. Potentially the greatest. I'm thinking this group will have that "spurtability", capable of 20 points in five minutes.

Look at Dontaie. At EKU he goes for 30 points a dozen times. At UK, none, at least this year. That tells me something. We are deep and very, very good.

If we opened the season at Baylor, we might lose. But we might not. Come March, we bury them alive.

Barring injury or Covid ruining everything. I predict Final Four and cutting the nets down even though I can't seem to see them in my imagination.

I haven't been this excited, maybe ever, about the upcoming season. SO PUMPED.

And thank God He has intervened, kept me alive. I asked Him for that favor, to see the Cats play in 20/21.

It's going to be a fun year despite the mess this year has brought. Go Cats.

I'm not going to say a title team, because again, the NCAA will intervene before that.

.. But I probably give them the best odds at reaching a final4 since 2015. So long as we don't have several recruits well off the mark, we will be solid. I think a #2 seed (and up) is almost a foregone conclusion, simply because there aren't many opportunities to lose.

Come on man give Dave a break. The guy can’t post anything without haters like you attacking him. He has the right to post without constantly being attacked. Dave has been around a long time and deserves some respect. Get over yourself. If you don’t like his post just use the ignore button.

Same. In order for me: 1996, then 2012 and 2015 about the same. Couldn’t believe we weren’t ranked as everyone’s #1 in 1996. I was shocked.

I actually had that infamous Street & Smith’s college basketball magazine. They had ku #1 and us #2. That’s when I began to figure out that ku was just gonna be annually overrated. There were also a few polls that had Cincinnati #1 that year, with Danny Fortson and company.

I do have relatively high expectations for this team, though. We actually have some very skilled basketball players this year, across the board. Each of them bring something different to the table also. It’s not a bunch of redundant talent.

The thing that has me excited the most is that everything I’ve heard about this group is that they are all “dogs”. They love to get after it and they all work hard. Supposedly, the defense is ahead of schedule, which is great news. I’ve heard the term “special group” used about this team so much that I’ve lost count. Another good sign. We’ll see.

If we find a couple of players who can knock down the three ball then it can be special. I’m leaning 65-35 that we will but I need to see these guys in a game first.

But one things for sure, our low post can be relied upon to do their part, especially defensively.

Agreed. The good news is, we have several guys that are known to be good outside shooters: Allen, Boston, Clarke, Mintz, Askew and even Fletcher is supposedly shooting the ball well.

I know, I know, it hasn’t been in a game. Just saying, we have a lot of options. Also, Brooks started to shoot the ball much better late last season.

I think we surprise A LOT of people out of the gate how talented this team is,.seriously, how many teams are going to match Boston and Clarke? I don't care that they are both freshmen, they are both going to be SPECIAL!!! Oh and F*ck Tennessee & Gary Parrish(hes in bed with Tennessee this year, already).

We have an entirely brand new team. Im just going to take things as they come and try to enjoy the ups and downs of the season. Simple logic tells me its a bit naive to expect a title with such turnover. But who knows how these guys might come together? Im just going in with zero expectations. Cant wait for the season to get underway

Fletcher's shooting the ball? If he can knock down a few shots he's going to be hard to keep off the floor...

We will probably get Higgins after he gets his hair colored in the Championship game. He has to have a lot of FaceTime not good for the cats!! This kinda worries me he could💣 our season!!

Well, you certainly are Mr. Positive. I've watched some college football with great interest and excitement and feel basketball will be the same. As for the virus, it is what it is. Just an unprecedented time and we have to make the best of it for now. Sorry you are so down but not letting you infect me and my excitement.
