Agree with Wynn. Teachers are some of the most important members of our society, possibly the most underrated outside of trash collectors. Several members of my family where/are teaEducation of our youth is the most important thing to protect the future of our nation. Unfortunately we are failing at that due to the injection of politics into the process.

The teachers union is where my anger resides. They whipped up a frenzy and got Andolph through the primary and squeaked past the former *******. I cant wait until we get to boot this fool from office.

I always wanted to send my girls to public school K-8 and do everything I can to guide them to hopefully get into Manual, which is one of the best public schools in the entire US with a great math/science & arts programs.

I believe there’s value in public schools as I want them to understand diversity and not think that everyone & everything mirrors what they see at the country club or in our little upper middle class honk fest bubble. Dealing with people from various backgrounds is vital to preparing you for life and business. My personal experience at Ballard was a great one as I was for the most part sheltered growing up and it became an eye opening experience. Had kids in my graduating class go on to Princeton, UVA, MIT, Vandy, Singletary Scholarship at UK, and also had dudes shooting craps and rolling blunts in the parking lot.

All that being said, I’m done with JCPS. I’m not going to have my girls be held hostage by anything political and a teacher’s union. This nonsense and the collateral damage involved is a real shame. Middle class folks will be ok but the real victims are the inner city kids with a single parent who can’t afford childcare and they are home alone trying to work a chrome book and aren’t getting the proper nutrition they would receive at school. This is straight from my cousin in law who teaches elementary school at Klondike Elementary in Newburg. The kids want to go back.

Touch you, Andy. Go Cats.

Yeah, but did any of the dudes shooting dice and smoking blunts make it into Vandy or any of the other finer institutions of higher learning?. That is the big question. Can say that growing up poor in the Pride Place Projects in the ghetto that is Madisonville definitely versified me. It made me the well rounded model citizen to all that I am today. I DO NOT highly recommend, but it is what it is. I did learn that the only time you get down on your knees is shooting craps. I was so happy when I was able to move my momma to a crib from the jects. If your trap house doing numbers, then you blessed.

The funniest thing about JCPS is they had a real live test to learn from. Catholic Schools have been flawless. Not even a hiccup yet. But the KEA and Andy wanted the catholic schools to fail so bad they are ignoring it. Andy HATED when they went against his mandate.

And Notre Dame is #4 in the country- it’s KILLING him!

Anecdotal stuff regarding public ed.

1. My district went back full time this week. The kids and teachers were ecstatic. We do have 1 teacher who refuses to return to her class. She feels she’s hugely at risk. Other than her, the entire staff is ALL-IN.

The oldest tenured teacher at the school -27+ years -did not renew her KEA membership for the first time in her career this year and is proud of it. I think there are many like her.

This might be embarrassing to admit, and I know it’s against my late-mother’s wishes, but I’ve never been a member of KEA. This is my 22nd year.

2. The district I used to work at is in a hybrid situation. Kids go 2 days a week to in person. Teachers go Monday-Thursday and everyone is virtual on Friday. Many parents in that community are openly looking for other districts or private schools (not many down here) to put their kid in. They’re done with that schedule. They want “consistency.”

3. Teachers - especially ones with school aged kids - that teach on the hybrid schedule also hate it. The work load is more and it’s very difficult to teach students while making sure your own biological children get their stuff done. Basically, students get 2 days of personal instruction, then they are doing in-line work and sometimes understanding new concepts in their own during the other 2-3 days. It’s like they’re college kids and are expected to behave that way. Nuts.

4. Go Cats!

*We decided to do virtual academy for my 10 year old daughter until they go back 5 days a week. As expected, the A/B schedule here just doesn’t provide enough personal instruction for 4th graders. Kids go to school two days, have NTI (******** busy/homework for 2 days) and independent study (nothing) for one day. My daughter has live teachers 5 a day week and it’s worked surprisingly very well. Pleased with it to be honest.

She still sees her friends outside of school a lot, so I don’t think she’s missing a ton socially, and she’s getting a way better education. When they go back 5 days a week, she’ll go back to school.

My step-son who is a junior in high school is doing the A/B schedule, because we felt for him and his classes, it was completely fine and that the social aspect outweighed the additional days of actual instruction.

*Played the Governor’s Club in Brentwood on Thursday. Place and the houses on it, are incredible. Top 5 fastest greens I’ve ever played.

*Played Legacy just outside of Nashville yesterday, and highly recommend. Great layout, fast and extremely undulating greens. If you’re ever down that way, check it out.

*Couples glow golf tonight. Hammered will be an understatement.

I've been arguing for Boogie to have his hand in the ground since week 1, no reason to keep him in coverage as much as we do.

TW might have the lowest QB IQ of any quarterback we’ve ever had. He will literally take a loss of yardage over throwing the ball away, every time. Twice on this current drive.
To be fair, I'm not sure that SEC refs know what is grounding and what isn't. Bad calls on that have hurt us a few times this year.

I want Terry to be good. I really, really do. But our best offensive playmaker is probably over there holding a clipboard. If not for that asshoe from Eastern Illinois, this wouldn’t even be an issue.
