-Dads really get no respect. WS post family pictures and 75 comments with no mention of how great I look. Tons of, "oh you're beautiful, you're glowing, G is so handsome, etc" but no direct compliments for old Dad. Thinking of making a fake account to compliment myself.

Anth, You're looking great buddy. That private trainer has you looking like a shorter, stockier version of a Ben Affleck Superman. I was also pleasantly surprised how quick you were turning grey.......

Turning grey is something I know all too much about and damn its happening quick. #WorkStress

In all seriousness, G & Sloot are the good looking ones in your family. Hell, G should be doing some kind of toddler modeling. Accept their superior great looks and be just be happy with you my friend. [eyeroll]

Anth, folks never comment on Dad in those photos for these reasons:

(1) Men - because GAY, obviously;
(2) Women - because it makes them look thirsty (which they very well might be and even if they aren't it's what every woman reading it will think)

Hope this helps.
Plus, a dude isn’t going to totally cut you from his social circle and talk **** to you to others if you don’t comment (positively, of course) on his picture.

Botanist Gin is damn good. Then again, I like almost all gin. Never understood the gin hate in fact.

I do remember having drinks at Logan's Roadhouse in college (Roadhouse Tea's FTW), and there was a "sweet" little old lady sitting there next to us at the bar. We were all having a good time and she struck up a conversation with us. We got to the subject of favorite types of booze. She's rattling off old lady drinks like Manhattan's, so I bring up gin. She looked at me like I was nuts and then said as loud as can be, "Gin, that's what the (hard n-words) drink!"

Even 20 years ago, saying that loudly at the bar will get you some bad looks sent your way. That was pretty much the end of that conversation, but unfortunately I think of that damn story every time I have a G&T.

tbh, as a lady, I always assumed those posts were exclusively a result of the lady of the house telling her husband/mans it was time to get pictures done. However I will start complimenting errybody just for you, anth.

UCL makes a good point, though. A couple male friends of mine will be some deep **** with their lassies if I say they're looking good.

To be fair, pretty sure any (straight) man complimenting my wife on how she looked in a picture would probably get a raised eyebrow from me, too. THAT SON OF A *****

When did we add another hussy to the board?

I understand why, just saying, a few hundred comments in you think a guy could at least get acknowledged. Name wasn't even mentioned. That's some ****.

Shorts:

- There’s something to be said for wisdom. Or at least there used to be. The 20 year olds on Twitter may have it all figured out now.

- I don’t know what the RIGHT is bitching about. You’ve got a moderate white who’s worked with real Conservatives his entire career. We could have sent Keith Olberman out there. Tic for tat.

- Tennessee basketball isn’t getting a Top 3 kid from Seattle. You don’t leave your hometown school of which you have strong family connections to play ball in Knoxville. If he leaves home, it will be for Kentucky or Duke. This kid has no handlers. This one will be straight up, thus one can confidently use the wcc Common Sense Test.

- Got my “GIRL DAD” t-shirt. We ready.

- Sorry to hear about Anth’s first hangover since 2004. Guess he forgot his routine of buttchugging sawgrass extract before bed this time. Puppies ...

- By the way. I still can’t believe that KSR guy thought Rafferty said “puppy scent.” [laughing]

- “Yellowstone” is a damn soap opera ... but thanks to Montana, Costner the extremely underrated Cole Hauser and the Kentucky boy-heavy soundtrack, it’s worth watching.

- Not ashamed of my late summer affinity for a good Pumpkin Ale, namely Schafly’s.

-Meh, we've heard about how despicable Trump/Republicans are for 4 years and you roll out a handsy old demented white dude that is best known for crime bills.. Then add Harris on the ticket. Guess you guys are really wanting to be the "tough on crime" party again. Just in time since your fellow dems have essentially allowed our downtowns to become Grand Theft Auto. 4 years to get a decent candidate and that's where you go.

-Am glad to hear that Kasich is a real class act these days and would've been a hell of a candidate for the Republicans. Weird how that works, because had he won the nomination, I'm sure he would've been the next coming of Satan. Similar to the turn-a-rounds Mitt/McCain were able to make.

-Talking **** about my hangovers is a bit too far. I have my methods. Get pumped.

- Fired away on 6 Oaks tickets. That 62-page Covid document Churchill has for people to read to prepare what they should expect is thorough, strict and wild.

It's going to be absolutely surreal this year. Temps taken and medical questionnaires at the gate; no one over 99.9 will be allowed in; mask mandatory all day (with people in each section monitoring); grab-and-go only meals; stylus pens handed out to use on machines instead of your fingers; people sitting 2-3 seats from each other (only 40% capacity will be used).; limited access to most of Churchill.

I'm confident Churchill will pull this off and the Commonwealth comes out looking great. I'm certain Keeneland is waiting to see how this goes to pull the trigger on spectators for Fall/Breeders Cup.

- Began to start walking mid-July and damn thing is addicting now. I spent Friday-Sunday walking 100,000 steps (over 50 miles) and I've never felt better in my life. Changed the diet and down 25lbs since July 15th. Feels good, gang. Now transitioning it to a light run. Brooks shoes for the win.

Still thinking those two toenails that are now black will fall off soon.

- MY GO-TO WALKING/RUNNING MUSIC:
1. The Dark Knight Trilogy Definitive Cut
2. Game of Thrones Main Theme Extended
3. Rocky 4 Training Montage
4. Trombone Shorty - Do to Me 2012 Final Four Opening
5. The Karate Kid Soundtrack

- Rickey Henderson's SB record is a lock to never be broken, right? 2nd place is 500 stolen bases behind. [laughing]

- Got my good buddy (old school wrestling fan) a Cameo from Mick Foley. It was flat-out awesome. Pulled out Mr. Socko and made us honorary Four Horsemen members (he picked Kevin Owens as the fourth member for some reason). We've watched at least 100 times.

- That Rewatchables on Teen Wolf with Bill Simmons and Kyle Brandt was fantastic. And just saw they released a Caddyshack one today. On it.

- Been on here since I was 25 (2003) and I've probably met 3 of you. But there hasn't been a day goes by that I don't read every single page and know too much stuff about strangers than I should.

Life isn't too short. It's the longest thing you'll ever do. Thanks for the entertainment for the last 17 years. Wow. Woooooooooow.

Down 25 lbs in 3 weeks? Did you cut off an arm? I guess 17 miles a day helps.

I've picked running back up this summer and I'm down 18 lbs since June 1. Eating habits haven't changed much so it's going to be a fight when the weather starts cooling off.

Yeah, I mean 20 years ago was 2000. Pretty sure the hard N was a no go all the way back then.

Little old ladies can get away with a ton of **** though.

I don’t recall saying Mitt or McCain was the next coming of Satan. Nice straw man, though.

And I also used to be a bit handsy - especially on dance floors and your deck post football games so my affection for the great Biden makes perfect sense.

What the hell is the chipotle hot sauce made of? I was raised on spicy food but I’m pretty sure this stuff is just pure acid, feels like a hole has been burned through my stomach.

The only other female attorney we had on here left the profession and, I assume, is incredibly happy now.
She clearly had the right idea.

I mostly like what I do, but that's because I go to great pains to ignore my enormous student debt load.

@_chase I assume everyone on the internet is a dude even if their username is LiterallyAWoman, because...well, it's the internet

Trump is a piece of s***. That pre dated his candidacy by decades.
That’s always been one of my gripes- I mean he was a joke for years and years if you’re a certain age. Like “oh that rascal, bankrupting casinos and getting divorced and having weird hair” and now if my sources are to be trusted he’s preparing to usher in a new golden age with JFK Jr.

-Did anyone ever say what happened to Chris Oats and I just missed it?

-The "State of the Program" features The Athletic is putting out make for great CBB offseason reading. Nice, thorough breakdowns of 75 major basketball programs.

-A.W. Hamilton seems like a coaching star on the rise. Learned from some great ones and off to a great start at EKU. Now trying to beat cancer. An easy guy to pull for.

-Still can't get with Mark Jackson on NBA broadcasts. I know he and JVG play off each other well, but the guy's so monotone. C-Webb does a decent job on NCAA-T broadcasts. Give that guy a shot.
