Yeah I used perforated foil tray over the indirect heat and turned them on the hour to even the color on all the sides. Ended with a nice crust but tender and juicy inside. They soaked up the sauce on part two of the cook in the foil.

Didn’t blow anybody but made some strong impressions:)
And you call yourself a host? Pfff

As a proud northern Kentuckian, I will go against my family and friends as goetta does in fact suck donkey balls.

Eating beans of every kind often is a Pro move to guarantee social distancing. In and out of places with a quickness if the other customers are wearing the cheap masks.

"For those who don't follow me on social media... butt rub" :joy:

Peak Il Popo.

* The Evansville big man seems intriguing. On the one hand, getting kids from Evansville isn't a good sign but the guy did put up nice stats and had the sense to get injured after that program imploded, so maybe he's good. Idk.

* It is good to see that COVID has helped people put aside their political leanings in a time of woe and come together.

If it all falls apart, I bet there’s more than one Sandy Hook parent that’ll be coming for him. I doubt he’d survive more than a day or two before getting shot in the face. I’m mildly surprised one of them hasn’t murdered him already (which would be completely justified).

Have started to go back and watch old movies that I just never got around to watching. "St. Elmo's Fire" is garbage. Just awful.

tmfh's 4 year-old ate at St Elmo's Fire in Indianapolis, and absolutely loved the New York Strip. Medium rare, of course. Bernaise, Oscar style. Potatoes Romanoff and a glass of Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet.

I guess kids play 23 baseball games a week now and across 8 states on 4 different travel teams with 3 uni sets each, a swing instructor, nutritionist, strength trainer, etc.

But I wouldn't trade waking up on a fresh spring Saturday with that clean LL/Babe Ruth uni laid out, all set for an 11:00 am ballgame for that nonsense. Be there by 10:30, of course. Neighbors or school friends on the other team. Throwing their ace who's prone to hitting a batter or two because he only plays baseball for 2.5 months a year.

Parents really F'd that one up IMO. A shame.

The best thing at St Elmo's in Indy is the shrimp cocktail.

And for the record, Tmfh's oldest is a pretty darn good baseball player. Kid keeps growing like a weed and throws gas. If he doesn't at least play college (if they ever) I'll be surprised.

One of my teammates had his arm broken from a HBP from the kid that hit puberty 2 years before everyone else. I think I jumped out of the box on 3 straight strikes the next time I went up.

Germantown LL and St. Matthews Babe Ruth. Was a blast. Playing under the lights at STM with actual dugouts as a 13 year old was simply mindblowing. Worshiped.

CSAA baseball was underrated. We had a girl's Dad "coach" because we had to have one, but he let us set the lineup, assign positions, change pitchers, etc. He was a real one. Thought it was great. Basically sandlot baseball with an ump on a crappy diamond. Guardian Angels and St. Helen were perfect. Brat and home fries FTW.

-my sister was "spring cleaning" this past wkend and found a box of photos that Mom left her. Some great/sweet photos of Mom...but i digress:

-all of my tball, minor league and little league "picture day" photos. Generic hats/jerseys with iron-on felt block letters. Pretty sure i was wearing cords in the tball photos.

-Played a ton of games at St Helen. Worshiped. Really the only thing it had going for it was the baseball field and food. That little covered patio area was a god send. Talk about the worst Summer Picnic venue. There or St Dennis, Christ those places sucked. Was it Edwards that had that massive field?

-All my grade school buddies play softball at Incarnation, took 1 spring year off to join them rather than play Sr Div. Crushed the Big A. Returned in fall ball, though.

-Southwest(it was so ****** I don't even know if it was affiliated with BR or LL), Valley Sports, CSAA, Valley Sports Senior then realized baseball in HS would eliminate Spring Break, FALSE. Wrestling had a much better timeline.

-Traveling teams sound awful from both kids and parents. Much rather get the Saturday game over and spend the rest of the day in the pool and sleep over with the boys.

Looking pretty bleak this summer as far as pools opening, sports happening, etc. Should be a blast for the kids.

If your 9 year old doesn’t play travel baseball, sucking up your entire time schedule, bank account, social life, and sanity, then what in the world would you ever have to humblebrag about amongst your friends and co workers??

Travel ball: strong FOR, obvi.

A couple years ago my mom was tossing stuff from her basement and sent me a box of old team pictures from St. Helen. I tried to look up some of the other kids to see what they were up to and the results were pretty woeful. Was even worse when I did the same with the teams from Beechmont.

Used to run the scoreboard up there while my dad was umpiring. $2 a game *with* free cokes. Would also get a hotdog and home fries if the right person was running the concessions. Everything's been kind of downhill after that, tbh.

Isn't he a southpaw also? Just an added bonus.
