If he commits to us it may bring back Montgomery and if so we would be done

Will be interesting to see if it plays out that way. We need both in reality but with Boston and Clarke rhat will limit Brooks time at the 3.

Haarms hasn't avg more than 20mpg in his career, so I would imagine EJ would still need to spend some time at the "5".

All assuming we lost IQ/Nick and above happens, maybe something like this:

PG- Askew/Mintz
SG- Boston/Mintz/Allen
SF- Clarke/Allen/Brooks/Fletcher
PF- EJ/Brooks/Ware
C- Haarms/Jackson/EJ

Edit- totally forgot abt the 3 other recruits. Will be interesting. Boston & Clarke are going to have to play 30 mpg. EJ would likely get 25+. Brooks probably 20+. Would assume Haarms gets 20+. Askew and Mintz split PG and Mintz backs up Boston at 2G.

If all this transpired I don't see a ton of minutes for some of these guys....which is fine by me, but will it be by them for EOY? Of course they could be better than other guys, all hypothetical.

Im sure Camron Fletcher and Lance Ware will have no problem with this lineup.

you have allocated 0 minutes for Jackson, Ware and Fletcher. Doubt that happens

Montgomery, Richards and IQ continue to slide down the mocks with each passing day. More and more guys are declaring. Garza threw his hat in the ring yesterday.

Eventually they are going to fall completely off the board.

I just wouldn't rule out all 3 returning. I think it's already a bad decision to leave right now given where they are in the mocks.

If we get Nick, EJ and IQ back to go along with Brooks and Allen and the #1 Class we would have enough superior talent to be ranked #1 and #2 !!!

I see 1. Gonzaga. UK isn’t winning a championship next year returning only keion brooks.
LOL if we add Haarms and Mintz we are the preseason top 3 team. No other team will have 2 top 5 draft picks. No team will have 10 guys , minus Mintz , all who are on the NBA radar .You would have to be leader of the LOD to not see UK , as long as they find a back up pg , like they did and find a starting center like Haarms , are one of the 2-3 favorites . We will have more talent next season then this . AND we will have as much experience . Haarms has played 3 years , so has Mintz . Brooks played 1 year and Allen was with this team despite not playing . So next year we are both more talented and as experienced.

And this all assumes EJ does stay in the draft which I doubt he does . Without EJ we are lock to be a top 3 team along with Nova and Gonzaga . EJ comes back we are clear the #1 .

Good point. To be fair sestina wasnt really a threat to score from the low block really. Travis shot quite a decent amount it feels like early in the year and as the season went on he never shot them at all. We desperately needed Junior year Richards his Sophomore year. That team coulda been special.
Sestina was great in the post so that isn't true. He let Sestina shoot away as Sestina could shoot. Simple as that. Cal has no problems with bigs shooting as long as they make them.

Is the reason Nick Richards?
I am sure that is what he meant. But Nick is gone . I do think Richards is much closer to coming back then IQ but both wil be gone in the end IMO. EJ and Haarms have nothing to do with one another . As I think we will add Haarms and still EJ comes back eventually in July or August after not being drafted but Richards and Haarms can't coexist IMO so you would have to assume the 2023 character was implying Richards though it isn't going to happen.

I truly just want to get the commitment from Haarms as then I will be completely at ease as UK will be primed for a final 4 run and IF EJ does the right thing then we go from a 4-5 loss team to a 2-3 loss team. But with Haarms in the fold it is all just icing on the cake.

Lol. Gonzaga has one final four in the entire history of their program. The most overrated program in the last 15 years. You aren't very smart about basketball huh.

Cal might let him shoot mid range like he did nick but he aint letting haarms shoot 3’s. If haarms is ok with that maybe he comes here.
If Haarms can knock them down at 35%, Cal will let him. Let's see him try it at UK. He's a decent shooter.

Its never been Cals MO to let his bigs shoot 3’s, id imagine he especially wouldnt for one thats 7’3. Maybe he’ll have a change of heart this season in an attempt to unclog the lane and give other guys the ability to slash which seems like itll be more of our strength but i just wouldnt necessarily as a fan ‘plan’ on seeing him shoot any since it hasnt happened before under Cal

He let Jorts shoot them. If Haarms shows he can hit them from the top of the key in pick and pop situations, he will have the green light.

If you're not a pumper, then yes. Cal makes no effort to bring kids back. Gets in the way of recruiting, even if the practice team includes kids strapped in pillows.
This is flat out incorrect. He wanted Teague back. Hell he wanted Juzang back after he said he wanted to transfer. He won't get in the way of them leaving... but he'll let them know that UK is the better choice at this point based on what he hears from NBA guys.
