We are closing on a new house on Tuesday and I’ll be working from home while watching my preschool-aged kids and packing / moving / cleaning at night and then fixing / cleaning / staging and listing our current home for the next month.

I think we’ll have to put a pan of bleach in the preheated oven to put buyers at ease.

Looking forward to it!

I’m watching Dateline. Runny nose. See you guys on the other side
Is this a clever test to get someone to mention that “runny nose” is not a likely symptom of COVID-19?

I’ve been working from home for two days and hadn’t gone outside until I took my dog out when my wife got home. When I came back inside I had an immediate throat clench and was like “WTF?!” and coughed into a towel over the laundry sink. Then I realized my nose was runny and I hadn’t been exposed to pollen for two days... Yeah... That’s all it was... I’m sure of it...

Welcome to the Wu Flu.

For real my family are showing no “typical” signs but we have runny nose, drainage, etc. but I’ve already gone straight to the acceptance stage. Marcus tally us up in the running total of 100% no doubt about it confirmed cases. Just going to lock down for a while, I reckon

Sold my house in Knox and it closes in 3 weeks, hope like hell this ish doesn’t delay the closing or cancel altogether. Selling a house is one of the biggest PITA in life.

I’m outtie either way, accepted an offer in Raleigh this past Monday. POD hitting driveway next Friday, GFY Tennessee.

Yup, I found “gee shucks how did that happen?” errors on every mortgage issuance. Reclaiming that last $292.20 they tried to screw me on last night felt really good. “Please sign this tonight or it will delay!!!” “REVISE AND RESUBMIT, then we’ll sign.” FOH.

Once we decided to buy a new house, and there were essentially four of them to choose from, we just moved - so at least we shortened the process.

Now we just get to carry two mortgages until the aliens come down and take remaining humans as their slaves after their virus works its magic. Pretty cool.

Just watched the UK-Virginia Tech 2nd round game from the 1996 Tournament, and it was glorious. Ball movement, extra passes, shooting without hesitation, no shot clock watching, etc. It was a different sport.

Also, as I was searching for the game on YouTube I stumbled across the 1987 football game between Jerry Claiborne’s Kentucky and Frank Beamer’s Virginia Tech and it is f’ing perfect.

Fox and Bam were filthy awesome. It is interesting to watch Briscoe, Dom, Willis, and Humphrey in retrospect. Briscoe is the ultimate *******. Good enough that you have to play him but never a winner and someone who demands attention. But Dom especially makes me misty.

Great kid.

Also, Briscoe wears a t-shirt in the beginning of that clip and then takes it off. Those are the seemingly minor things that reinforce what was worrisome. Nice wardrobe change, Isaiah.

If you're really hard up, France seems intent on still holding cycling events. Paris Nice kicked off again today after rumors each previous stage was the last. Going up La Colmaine. They must really want French winner because France had 785 new cases yesterday, several other riders have been positive, 3 teams have dropped out because of the virus.

Well, 1-4 in Turkish League basketball, hope my Cricket bets turn out better. Rooting hard for the Cape Cobras and Titans. Still have Darussafaka and Buyukcekmece in the Turkish League yet to play.

Closing Thoughts on This Season:

- Good season overall. I’d say the highlights were likability and some big leaps made by individual players. Probably Cal’s 7th best squad, but still one I thought had the pieces to make a run. Wouldn’t have surprised me one bit to see this team in the Final 4.

- As mentioned, the highlights were the individual improvements in Quickley and Richards. Not to be dramatic, but it was almost heartwarming seeing those two blossom. To a lesser extent, EJ improved throughout the year. Rarely was I dog cussing him toward the end of the season. We also saw late promise from Brooks and Juzang.

- Sestina was a nice addition. Very likable role player who could shoot and knew how to play.

- Maxey was a mixed bag- extraordinary at some big spots (Michigan State and Louisville) but inconsistent. All that said, I truly believe he was going to be big in March. Kid was made for that stage. Will go down as a good not great Calipari freshman- in the neighborhood of James Young and Keldon Johnson, below the elite but above guys like Knox. Certainly could have made a leap in the NCAA.

- Hagans was AA-esque the first month or so but took a dive. Would have liked to see if he could have redeemed himself.

- Team highlights include another victory over Louisville (ho hum), a terrific road record, improvement throughout the year and a likely decent 3-seed.

NEXT YEAR

- The late year play of EJ and Brooks showed promise. A starting frontcourt of Montgomery and Brooks is enticing- as both showed offensive potential and versatility on D. Montgomery specifically turned into an outstanding defender. He also showed improvement on offense- especially in the high post when facing up. He could be very good next year. Brooks is a solid intelligent ballplayer who one could easily see becoming a linchpin.

- Juzang really improved too- finding his shot and going from an awful defender to merely a poor one. His role is obvious- shooter off the bench next year with the potential to be an All-SEC type as a junior. Pretty good trajectory for a guy who reclassified.

- I think Quickley returns and if so becomes the face of this team and will receive preseason AA love. Cal will likely sell him on running a lot of point alongside three incoming backcourt players who all have some playmaking skills of their own.

- Boston and Clarke are the elite highend talents we’ve lacked since 2017. Both have star potential.

- Jackson, Fletcher, Ware and Askew are role players as freshmen. Ware and Askew are fairly polished whereas Jackson andFletcher are known more for their athleticism.

- Allen is a wildcard coming off redshirt.

- Simply put- with a return of IQ and EJ, this is an elite Kentucky squad who should battle Gonzaga for preseason #1. There would be experience, length, athleticism, high-end talent, offensive firepower and a defense that could switch at just about every position.

Without IQ, we need to add grad-transfer at PG.

I may go see a motion picture today. Hearing that an afternoon showing will sometimes have a cheaper entry fee. I believe they call it a "matinee."

Drove by Connemara on the way to work this morning, and saw the first (only) group of the day about to tee off. I still think they could've played The Masters without fans.

Also wonder if the pro shop had a run on golf towels.

Even at Trump's age, it is hugely likely that he would survive CV with great medical care. Somehow, remarkably, the crazy bastard appears to be in great shape for his age despite doing nothing healthy.

That's not true. There's a natural progression of lung disease that happens with age that no one can stop despite how "healthy" they are.

Everyone 60+ has some sort of COPD whether they know it or not. It may not even be detectable and zero symptoms despite all sorts of testing. But they all have some level of emphysematous changes in their lungs that naturally occurs. Just like everyone has some mild level of coronary artery disease no matter how healthy they think they are.

Ol Dr. Boat would be able to discuss this with more nuance, ha.
