Yeah...didn’t expect this thread to go this many pages
(And here I am contributing to it again)

bottom line: Hagans made an incredibly stupid mistake and I still think it’s related to his “ahem” time off
However we have too many people in this thread jumping to conclusions when not one person here knows the whole story

btw, @morgousky ...question. Did you say AH reposted this? I was under the impression it was dug up and reposted by that UofL fan named in the OP?
There are still more questions than answers to this whole mess. And that is exactly what it is, a mess that nobody needed this late in the year.

Really stupid. But I don’t know why we can’t leave it at that. Instead we have walls of words, and enough of them devoted to unsavory things like point shaving and agent money that there will be visitors talking about UK fans saying Hagans shaved points or took agent money. Years from now, some will swear that’s the real story. Life in 2020.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s real either. If not, it’s hilarious. He punked the fan base, the media, other fan bases. We clearly have some fans that deserve it from him.
Seriously? That’s your take? It was stupid and immature regardless of the details. If you don’t want rampant speculation regarding your integrity and your program, you don’t put yourself in a situation this ridiculous. Ever! You’re the first poster that has said anything like this about this situation. It’s hilarious? I can’t say I’m shocked.

If Hagans plays Friday, and I’m pretty confident he will, then I don’t think there will be any doubt that there’s nothing to this stuff. However, if he doesn’t play there will be concern even if it’s not merited.

Yeah, there is the smallest chance they could make an announcement that way. My personal perspective is that this is done and Hagans has been cleared or UK would have publicly declared him ineligible.

Another possibility that worries me more, frankly is that UK has found nothing, submitted for NCAA concurrence and Emmert’s bunch decides to sit on it to see what hatches. UK is squeaky clean so they could decide to hold him out just in case. I don’t trust those bastards at the NCAA so I could see this as a mechanism for what you suggest.

My personal opinion is that Hagans successfully punked everyone.

I don’t have a problem with anything in this post except for the last sentence. If that was his goal, well.....I’m not even going to say it.

I’m not defending anything. I’m laughing at the histrionics by you and others. You don’t know if the picture is related to anything. In the final analysis, it was a team matter. Team handled it. You going full Reverend Pat over it is a blast.
You don’t get what I and everyone else are saying. Whether anything comes of it or not isn’t the debate right now because no one knows for sure. It’s the fact that it shouldn’t even have happened and started this mess to begin with. It’s just something else the team, staff, and school has had to deal with, and they should not have been put in that situation. It’s nothing but a distraction, and 18-21 year olds don’t need anymore distractions than they already have. It’s not a laughing matter and shouldn’t be thought to be by anyone.

Edit: By the way, it wasn’t just a team matter. It was posted on social media for all the world to see. A team matter is dogging it in practice or not doing what the coaching staff directs you to do. This goes beyond being a team matter when it involves the entire university and is there for all to see. The manner in handling it is up to Cal and the university.

he gets it, but his enjoyment comes from taking shots at UK fans , every response give him that moment

Oh I know all too well. I’m not convinced he’s even really a UK fan. I’m not one to question another poster’s fan hood, but he always gets more enjoyment out of arguing with and trashing other posters WAY more than from whatever happens on the court. I rarely even see a post that actually involves the games. Almost never in fact. Oh well, some get their jollies in weird ways.

Wasting your time. Bass equates 18 year old boys playing basketball with 18 year old boys storming Normandy or islands in the Pacific. He is totally a clueless person, that gets off making himself appear better or smarter than others. Bass is a ............

He is referring to me. We were arguing yesterday. I don't recall calling him horrible but I do think I said insane.

He had speculated that AH was up to some very rotten things that could land the program on probation, strip wins, etc.

Also, I might add that per the definition provided by him when you make a prediction you are speculating, which ironically means that he was predicting AH was up to said rotten things.
I don't think it is a big deal. we have watched Alabama football players do the same thing and appearing to own 100,000 $ cars. How long were they put on probation?

No, its a team matter for the athletics department. You are just hysterical. All broken up over what is likely play money. Embarrassed so you are trying to make it significant. Dude, Hagans' got you and a lot of others. You have two choices. Laugh about it or go wring your hands like a little old woman. We know what choice you made. I'm laughing at your ***. Just deal with it old gal.

I'm in compliance. The fact that compliance "addressed it", only means they looked into it (investigated), and most likely notified the NCAA, and provided their findings...

Since Calipari is expecting him back Friday, I don't think that would be the case if there was any kind of violation.

Not a good look.. he's young.. both young and old do stupid things on social media. should not get the "death penalty" over a post like that.
Exactly. He made a dumb video with what might be fake money. It's social media. People try to look less fat, try to make their butts look bigger and yes try to look like they are ballers even when they aren't. Stupid, yes, but It's not like he went into a handicap section and was trying to swing a chair and use it as a weapon LMFAO.

I doubt know why but I just read this entire thread and thought I needed to post something since every other poster in here has.

So I'll just say that whoever was questioning/speculating/predicting/insinuating/etc points shaving are idiots. You shave points on the defensive end not by missing shots you were probably gonna miss anyways. One thing you can't question is his play on defense.

15 pages for monopoly money , lololol…. this is the troll of the decade by Ashton. We had a poster even post a screen shot showing the money was obviously fake and people are ignoring it. Also I've heard this was a video from highschool he reposted... which really doesn't matter... I did so much stupid crap between that age 17-20 years old.... he posted a video with some FAKE money.. it's hilarious some many are freaking out about it and really hilarious the UofL media guy waited for what he thought was the best time to repost an old video because he didn't know it was fake money but In an age where Fake NEWS is taken as REAL news... it really doesn't matter.

Making a video with fart noises is a dumb video. Making a video flashing cash making it look like we're a dirty program, giving us tons of nad press, and creating a massive distraction right before the tournament all for some BS self glory is something else.

Who exactly is worked up and distracted by it?Clay Travis?I'm sure the players don't give a **** because they actually have balls which is more than I can say for some of our stupid fans.

The people that have to keep answering for him and his actions are distracted. You're sure the players don't care about 1 person putting himself before the team? Players who sacrificed for the team don't care about 1 player thinking it's all about him? I wouldn't be so sure about that.

BTW, holding players accountable takes balls, enabling their shenanigans doesn't.

Interesting. In exactly what way? My hair not being on fire? I'm not freaking out over some video on social media that appears to be a joke? That the basketball and athletic program manages matters like this instead of the fan base?

How about we let our coach and administration handle it?

I care about our program being clean and winning. If Hagans actually did something that wasn't "clean" then I'd say "hit the road." That is up to the University to decide ultimately.

Otherwise, if the team is good with him, play on young grasshopper. Having him gives us a better chance at #9 than not.

Jesus Christ. You would think AH was accused of molesting a kid the way some are acting. It's not that big a deal and things will be okay.Just calm down.
Word, Ashton Hagans is bigger than the program. Who cares if he refuses to go into games, who cares if he makes the program look bad, he2freakin' Ashton Hagans.

I find it hilarious that some of you think Kentucky is clean, especially with Cal as the coach. No program is clean nowadays. Climb down off your arrogant hill and face reality.
I find it hilarious that you'd make a new account just to post this. If UK was paying players, do you think we'd get outbid or even matched by anyone not named Duke, Kansas, or North Carolina?

I'm not sure where the confusion is but we are letting them handle it. This is a UK message board where we discuss the UK program. No one here is handling the Ashton Hagans situation, just discussing it.

Yeah dummy, we're all rooting for our team. We're just not enablers who put problem players ahead of the program. We're not such sheep that we can't hold him accountable for his actions.
So you know actual facts about the situation more than our coach or AD?What proof do you have that he did something wrong?
