There’s a wall in the Texas A&M men’s basketball locker room that looks like a small shrine to senior guard Wendell Mitchell.

Nine pieces of paper feature screen shots of every charge that Mitchell has drawn in the Aggies’ eight games to date.

While it’s only a small piece of glory, those screen shots are one of a few ways new Aggie head coach Buzz Williams has rewarded his players for making one of the more painful plays in the sport.

Needless to say, Mitchell has been incentivized.

The Aggies (3-5) have drawn 13 charges this season, with Mitchell more than doubling the output of the rest of the team. He also leads the team in being the first player on the floor in loose ball opportunities, a stat the program keeps internally.

So him being on the floor, taking charges, that helps a lot. It gets everyone hyped and gets me hyped. It’s just like a dunk.”

Then, back in the locker room after the game, a new picture of the charge is hung on the wall and the player gets to pick from an assortment of fashionably decorated dress socks
"

Burn the sport to the ground.

Bam making the All-Star team is almost unbelievable. Not based on performance this year (obviously), but I just had him pegged as a 12 year rotation big man who can board and finish at the rim. Develop into a key reserve on a good team.

Totally transformed into a force. Good for him. Miami is the new San Antonio it appears

Coach K is a manipulative narcissist and a genuine piece of ****. Sorest loser in sports, and an absolute cocksucking hypocrite. It’s truly amazing how many media members he has fooled. Just goes to show you the general intelligence level of most sportwriters, or in the alternative, their ability to be bought by backslaps and wings, both of which are equally pathetic.

Just absolute :100points: on use of compound adjectives within compound sentences, capped off with a point of comparison that allows you not only to double the insults, but bring another group within the Insult Umbrella. My favorite writing style when I feel strongly about something. Bravo, sir - well done. Almost makes me

They just played #16 with the jersey's on since that's the infamous rowdy hole.

Finau did have a pair of purple & gold golf shoes on though.

Not going to rehash that whole thread, it pissed me off enough, but there is zero evidence that she didn't get offered.

Maybe she wanted to go out on here own for once, I did it coming from VA where everybody in my class went to UVa or Tech. I got into both but just wanted to come to UK and be my own person. And the staff at Pitt are all from Ohio so I'd be willing to bet there is a long relationship there.

It really is incredible. Nobody here, or anywhere else, could have predicted a year 3 (or any year) All Star from him.

-Booker got hosed though. Bad team, but 27 points & 6a on 50% shooting is rare air. He’s one of the best guards in the damn league. [eyeroll]

Not sure what Marrow is going to do, but I really wish the UK softball coach would've offered his daughter a scholarship.

Hell, we could probably pass the hat in GYERO and get the funds together for the VINCE "BIG DOG" MARROW DAUGHTER'S SCHOLARSHIP AT UK TO PLAY SOFTBALL if he would stay four years.

* The KSR podcasts from the Iowa Caucus run-up have been surprisingly hilarious. Shannon the Dude is a star in rating the candidates. I didn't think I would like it at all but I was wrong it is solid entertainment.

* It feels like a billion years ago that Auburn beat us in the Elite Eight. If we manage to win on the road down there tomorrow, we are starting to build a sneakily good resume for seeding purposes in order to compensate for the ******** loses to Evansville, etc.

I don't follow UK softball recruiting, but I've gotta imagine Marrow's daughter is built like a brick *********, no? Maybe a Billy Hatcher or Mo Vaughn clone?

-Was thinking more along the lines of Kirby Puckett.

-I've long been a Buzz fan, and I don't remember his teams being floppers. Wondering if that's the route he HAS to take this year because he inherited a pretty bare cupboard.

-I can't get over how much Bam has improved as a ballhandler. Has gone from having decent hands in the post, and nothing more, to leading the break in NBA games on occasion. Amazing.

I read on SaturdaysDownSouth that the contract Bo Pelini signed as HC at Youngstown state in 2015 and was still working under last year, paid $215,000 a year. LSU will pay him $2.3 million as DC. Marrow is around the million dollar range here isn't he? Other than the lure of it being your hometown and you get to call the shots (and the headaches that come with it), it looks like he'll have to take a significant pay cut to be their coach.

Every article about Bam basically says.....

- he's one of the best passing big men in the NBA
- he can easily shut down all 5 positions defensively
- he's a great rebounder
- he's the very best, most perfect pick and roll partner possible
- he's a very good jump shooter

It's like he's taken every single "little thing" possible and completely perfected it. On a team that's competing for the 2nd best record in the East. What a leap, man. Good for him.

Sidenote: Trae Young had 39 points, 6 rebounds, and 18 assists last night, and they actually beat the Sixers. :joy:

NBA stats are so much fun to look at every morning. You're guaranteed to get at least one of two "WTF" lines a day.

Pretty amazing how Bam developed to this from his last UK game to the draft...

...oh wait...maybe he could do this all along (which he could) and was one of the most mis-used players in Cal's era. TS.

He is finally able to show what he has been able to do for a while. Good stuff from a good guy.

You're welcome.

I agree 100%. That high school coach who cut Jordan from the team was a complete idiot also. No way players improve over 4 or 5 years.
