Of all the Gyero/well-to-do white people fads of the past decade, the “craft shaving” movement was probably the most senseless.
Badger hair brush? Shaving cream you have to make yourself? Razor blades you have to sharpen? A f**ing strop? False.
Mach 3 + shaving cream/gel of your choice = GOAT setup.
In fairness, the people who were into this fad now mostly just have horrible facial hair, so it appears the problem has mostly addressed itself.

I don't go through the production Adam does, BUT I use a brush, shave soap, and a double edge razor.
No sharpening, just order 100 blades at a time for $10. A container of shave soap last well over a year.
I get razor burn/ingrown hair so dermatologist recommended that setup. The single blade works great and no irritation.

This one is actually false. I have never given a hot wet **** about exotic shaving methods. Put on shaving cream, shave, done.
I use throw-away plastic crap for $2.25/month. Yes, it is pricey, but I budget for it and am OK with wasting money on such a convenience.
Haven't used a razor on my face in a decade, just buy a new beard trimmer every few years that costs $30 or so on Amazon.
Have also been cutting my own hair since high school so no great clips horror stories to share.

Personally I’m ready for this stupid *** phase where men think growing out pubic hair on your face is a good look. Enough already.
-i spend about $5...maybe 10 if you amortize the initial cost of the razor for 5 years.

I throw away anywhere between 20-30 grams of plastic waste per year by using disposable plastic cartridges.
Sure it’s terrible for the planet, but to offset the travesty, I avoid patronizing tailors that fly on jets from Asia and use local tailors that drive Subaru’s. Think global, act local, IMO.

I haven’t shaved since the end of May but I have a very nice and manicured beard. I’d like to drop from 180 to 170 before shaving smooth.
I did buy into the wet shaving trend. I still use a double edge safety razor because the blades are plentiful and I can shave better than with a Mach 3. I did give up the fancy soaps. While they smell good, they don’t beat regular old Foamy.

I was just in Sedona a couple of weeks ago, and I thought about replying when he asked for recommendations of things to do.
But since I didn't eat any lizard, or go to any pricey steakhouses, or take any UFO tours, I knew my suggestions wouldn't be helpful to him.
