When is CC supposed to decide?

You get him as our NBA-sized point, to go along with elite wings like Boston and Clarke.. then all we really need is a great big or two.. might not even NEED to have an elite big. Because CC/Clarke/Boston is going to be a force.

Just don't think he will be able to say no to big brother, even though Ok State wont be very good .

Get Cunningham with Clarke Boston and Fletcher and things get crazy good. Would be a heck of an addition if Kuminga is serious about wanting to play on a superteam. Any 2 top 20-30 bigs in the spring would be icing on the cake.
That's what I'm thinking as well. This class is looking to be even better than I have been anticipating. Good!

I think we have a better shot than most people know with Cunningham. Cal is not one to waste time if he does not feel there is a good chance of getting someone. I truly think the stuff with Okie State is playing a part in his decision. He would be SGA on steroids.6 -6, the same height, but better athlete than SGA. And that is not a knock on Shai.

Had one of those senior moments forgot that his brother is on staff at Ok St. Getting old you just forget some things. :(

You want to be the NBA #1 draft pick...You can play for Hall of Famer John Calipari who is the only coach in history to have coached FOUR NBA #1 draft picks (and scores of lottery picks.)

Or you can play for Michael Boynton Jr. who hopes to one day in the future make the NCAA tournament, and raised his lifetime coaching record (33-35) over .500.

Or you can play for Roy WIlliams, whose goal is to turn potential #1 draft picks into multiple year players.

His trainer put this up. If he wants to be the #1 draft pick, UK might be a good idea.

I'm not so sure. You could argue that guys like RJ and Cam were hurt by having so much talent around them. Is Kentucky the best choice for a recruit to succeed in the NBA? Absolutely.

.. but, that might not be the case if you're trying to get drafted #1. If Cade is as good as billed, he could ball out like Ja Morant, where as guys like Cam and RJ (or Boston and Clarke) take a bit away from each other.

Still, why is being #1 so important? minimally more money than being the 3rd or 4th pick, and you're on a worse team. Kentucky is still the better choice.

Okie state will be preaching the Ben Simmons and LSU mantra.

Cam Reddish, maybe you can make that argument. He was forced to play off the ball way more than he was used to (though he was terrible when he did have the ball in his hands, so you could argue that he was exposed just as much as he was limited by circumstance).

But Barrett? Barrett had an insanely long leash, probably to the detriment of that team. K seemed to be trying to use him as James Harden in a D'Antoni type of system, and Barrett didn't have the shooting ability or passing chops to really justify it.

And the #1 overall pick came off that team, anyway.

Cunningham has not been a dominant scorer in HS, and it's not really what his game is about (though he can put up plenty of points). Cunningham is much more from the Magic Johnson/Jason Kidd/Ben Simmons school, so having great teammates should be a positive for him.

It looks like the good news is that if CC's family truly allows him to choose, he probably picks Kentucky.

The consolation prize for his brother is that if he inverts the narrative and takes one for the team (ironically, many are implying that Cade will take one for the team and help his brother), then Cade could potentially make a bit more money down the road as a higher pick with a better brand (and better memories of college) and a fan base that will support/follow Cade for the rest of his career and post career. Cade might go #1 or #2 regardless of choice, but playing at UK and helping them advance (like Rose did at Memphis) can't hurt your brand, especially when you're surrounded by competent future NBA players.

Or he can go to OSU, play with a bunch of 2 and 3 stars, and be mostly forgotten until next June.

Cade's brother can simply transition to being his adviser/trainer/agent/etc. at the next level. The three hundred OSU fans who are actually paying attention will be pissed if big bro doesn't deliver "the goods", but Cade will deliver the goods that matter by making tens of millions of dollars after his Kentucky season is over.

I love it, and two visits in a week by the staff is promising.

Can't ask for a much better situation than having Clarke/Boston on the wing if you're an elite point guard. Also, going up against a junior Quickley every day in practice would be beneficial as well.

Add Brown to that mix and it becomes a no-brainer.

KAT

Cal already has evidence on super team and #1 pick. Not to mention booker, who didn't start become lottery.

He has 4 #1 picks in his career. He can genuinely say come to UK and be #1 pick, don't worry we know how. Look at Kat who wasn't the favored to be #1 pick

They were both picked top 7. The way K coached that team was awful. He just rolled the ball out to RJ and let him do anything. I will guarantee you RJ would of been on a shorter leash under Cal!! Zion should have shot way more shots. Cam made a mistake not coming to the cats. Davis and MKG went 1-2.
